Southeast Asia becomes first FFWS regional event to surpass 500,000 Peak Viewers
The Free Fire World Series - Southeast Asia 2026 Spring reached almost 600,000 Peak Viewers, according to Esports Charts, extending its record for the highest-ever viewership at FFWS regional tournaments.
The official regional FFWS league for Southeast Asia was an online and offline affair, with the Grand Finals held at the Quân Khu 7 Gymnasium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Apart from bragging rights, the region's 18 best teams competed for eight slots at the upcoming Esports World Cup 2026.

The FFWS - SEA 2026 Spring reached 598,673 viewers during Round 12 of the Grand Finals, extending its record as the series' most popular regional FFWS event. It surpassed the previous benchmark, set at the SEA Fall edition in 2024, by just over 64%.

The final round of the Grand Final was when the home side, Secret WAG, clinched the trophy after a neck-and-neck battle with All Gamers Global. These were the only two sides to become Champion Rush Point Eligible, and Secret WAG's Booyah in Round 12 handed it the win and sent home fans into a frenzy.

With this FFWS milestone, the Spring 2026 edition reiterated SEA's position as Free Fire's most crucial market. It has long been the only region in the popular battle royale title to attract hundreds of thousands of peak viewers, with this support also translating into global championship wins for its teams.

Such milestone audience engagement has also helped the Free Fire World Series' Southeast Asia region outperform several international events. The Spring 2026 iteration has beaten the Free Fire World Series 2023 and the Free Fire World Series 2022 Bangkok.

Secret WAG pipped All Gamers Global to the top spot right at the end, with the finalists taking home $100,000 and $50,000, respectively, out of a total purse of $300,000. They were joined by the other top eight sides in booking tickets to the Esports World Cup 2026 for Free Fire, which was confirmed to have been moved to France from Saudi Arabia last week.
Interestingly, since EVOS Divine got a direct invite to the EWC 2026 as it is the defending champion, one extra slot opened up. As a result, Team Falcons, which finished ninth at the FFWS - SA 2026 Spring, also booked its flight to Paris.
The FFWS, which is Garena's main esports circuit for Free Fire, as teams qualify through these regional competitions for global championships, will now take a back seat for the EWC. The multi-disciplinary spectacle will see the world's 24 best teams compete for a substantial prize pool of $1 million.
