Arena of Valor Premier League 2022 Group Stage results — already in the Top 5 tournaments of the year in the discipline
Group Stage of Arena of Valor Premier League 2022, one of the largest international tournaments in the discipline for teams from Vietnam, Taiwan, Thailand and Indonesia, ended last weekend in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Four teams left the APL 2022 after the Group Stage: Box Gaming from Vietnam and all Indonesian teams (ArchAngel, Dewa United and DG Esports). It should be noted that these teams did not manage to win a single match in the stage. The remaining eight teams made it to the Playoffs, and Talon Esports, Buriram United Esports and Bacon Time finished the Group Stage undefeated.
The Playoff upper bracket quarterfinals will take place on November 26-27. First, Talon Esports will clash with MAD Team and Saigon Phantom will battle Bikertopia Esports, followed by Buriram United Esports vs. V Gaming and Bacon Time vs. Flash Wolves matches the next day. The Arena of Valor Premier League 2022 Group Stage matches totaled more than 5.6 million Hours Watched and drew slightly fewer than 84.9K Average Viewers. The tournament saw its Peak Viewers number of 266K people on the first day at the match of MAD Team against Saigon Phantom in Group B.
The top 3 games of the stage by Peak Viewers also includes Buriram United Esports vs. V Gaming (Group C) and Bacon Time vs. Flash Wolves (Group D) matches, which took place on the second day of the tournament.
V Gaming from Vietnam became the most popular team in the Group Stage of APL 2022, whose games were watched by 126.6K Average Viewers. Saigon Phantom, MAD Team, Buriram United Esports and Bikertopia Esports are also in the Top 5 by this metric.
Vietnamese was the most popular broadcast language — it attracted more than 194.8K PV, and its contribution to the stage's HW total was nearly 65%. Thai comes in second place, drawing 98.8K PV and totaling nearly 24% of the Group Stage's HW result. YouTube (195.1K PV) and Facebook (41.1K PV) topped the list of platforms.

The AoV esports season was initially scheduled to culminate in Arena of Valor World Cup 2022, a $10 million tournament that would have been the first event to feature teams from both Honor of Kings (the Chinese version of MOBA) and Arena of Valor (the international adaptation of Honor of Kings). However, HoK has recently gone global, so it was decided to hold a joint tournament for both versions of the game with a prize pool of $10 million. It was called Honor of Kings International Championship 2022 and it will take place from December 3 to December 30. AWC 2022 was replaced by Arena of Valor Premier League 2022.
