What happened at the LCQs?

Of the three most-watched LCQs, the Brazil League 2023 Stage 2 LCQ did the best numbers, which is not surprising as it is one of the stronger regions and has been a traditional powerhouse in the discipline for a while. The likes of M80, w7m esports, and FaZe Clan will represent the country and look to continue its strong recent showings. In the former event, it was LOS who advanced after defeating Miners.gg 2:0 in the Grand Final of the Playoff Bracket.
The Europe League 2023 Stage 2 LCQ saw reigning Six Invitational 2023 champion G2 Esports beat Into The Breach 2:0 to seal its berth in Atlanta. It was one of the three qualifying tournaments to cross 200K Hours Watched and 20K Peak Viewers, with the other two being Brazil and the North America League 2023 Stage 2 LCQ. Spacestation Gaming progressed from the latter competition, staging a comeback to quell the challenge of Mirage 2:1 in the summit clash to come out on top.

Moving to the other competitions, the Japan League 2023 Stage 2 LCQ saw Crest Gaming Lst win and move to the main stage. Talon Esports, Knights, and FURY were the winners of the South Korea League 2023 Stage 2 LCQ, LATAM League 2023 Stage 2 LCQ, and Asia League 2023 Stage 2 LCQ, respectively. These regions, while not as successful in terms of audience numbers as their Western counterparts, have the rosters to cause upsets and bloody a few noses in Atlanta.
The presence of strong teams from the strongholds in Europe, NA, and Brazil will most definitely help with pulling in more eyeballs to the event and ending the regular season on a high note. Add in teams from other regions who will fancy their chances of leaving an indelible mark, and we have a recipe for success that could potentially take the resurgence of R6 esports to the next level.
