Brawl Stars World Finals 2024 betters game's peak viewership record by 179%
It's been a busy few months in esports, with various titles hosting end-of-season events, including League of Legends and Dota 2. While these tournaments satiated the appetites of PC gaming lovers the world over, there were also a few mobile esports titles from Supercell — Brawl Stars, Clash of Clans, and Clash Royale — that hosted their world championships and equivalent competitions between November 1 and 3.
Among these events from the Finnish developer, held at the inaugural multi-title esports event SuperFest, Brawl Stars shattered previous viewership records. There were also two other renowned games whose audience numbers put them among the more successful competitions in the respective disciplines to add to the list of accolades ticked off across esports competitions this year.
Viewership stats from the Brawl Stars World Finals 2024

The Brawl Stars World Finals 2024 has become the title's most successful tournament by a massive margin. Held at the Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Center, it witnessed the 12 best teams from across the world battle it out for a substantial prize pool of $1 million.
The sixth annual edition of the Brawl Stars World Finals had sides from regions like North America, Asia Pacific, South America, and EMEA participating. Three days of action-packed games culminated with HMBLE beating Crazy Raccoon 3:0 in the Grand Final to emerge as the game's newest world champion.
The Brawl Stars World Finals 2024 hit 1.1M Peak Viewers during the Playoffs Semifinals between HMBLE and SK Gaming. It was a battle between two rosters consisting mainly of German players, thus attracting a massive online crowd from the country. Those speaking English, French, and Spanish also showed lots of interest in this game, with the former taking the match with a 3:1 scoreline.
This was also a new viewership record for Brawl Stars, smashing the comparatively paltry 395K PV (179% rise), which was the previous record achieved at the Brawl Stars World Finals 2022. One big reason for this rise was the number of channels co-casting the games, rising steadily from 27 in 2022 to 61 in 2023 to 86 in 2024. A lot more European viewers got to watch the action as a result, with many of the region's main languages seeing spikes in their stats.
More accessibility also meant a lot more co-broadcasters, including spiukbs, pioupioulover, and ferre, although the official channels contributed equally. With so many more global streamers covering the tournament, it meant that languages like English, Italian, Spanish, and French saw massive spikes in watch times compared to previous iterations.

Most popular and watched tournaments in Brawl Stars esports history
It was a dominant run to the title by HMBLE, who remained undefeated throughout the Brawl Stars event after winning all five of its matches. The Italian esports organization took home $400,000 while the Japanese runner-up earned $200,000, with Symantec earning the Grand Final MVP accolade.
Symantec is a German player who has been active in the Brawl Stars competitive scene since 2020. He is considered one of the best players in the European Brawl Stars esports scene and played a crucial role in helping his team become world champion by beating one of his former sides.
The Brawl Stars World Finals 2024 also registered 7.57M Hours Watched over 12 hours of airtime, making it the most-watched event ever in Brawl Stars, beating last year's mark of 3.1M HW. Its 639K Average Viewers was also a new discipline milestone.
The number of platforms live streaming the tournament doubling also has to be mentioned. Although Twitch and YouTube remained the dominant options, TikTok made quite the headway, with its share sure to increase in the future as the video-sharing platform slowly gains a foothold in esports broadcasting outside its dominant market of Asia.
Viewership stats from other Supercell SuperFest competitions

Two other Supercell competitions were also conducted in Helsinki, with the first being the Clash Royale League 2024 World Finals. Although it did not reach any viewership heights, it finished among the game's five most popular events involving pro players.
Carrying a prize purse of $500,000, this tournament pitted the eight best players throughout the year against each other. The Grand Final saw Mohamed Light beat Ryley 2:0 to emerge as the game's newest world champion. As a result, the Egyptian, now a two-time world champ, became richer by $200,000 while the Canadian runner-up took home $100,000.
This Clash Royale event hit 141.7K PV, 511K HW, and 79.6K AV over an airtime of six hours. Interestingly, the most popular match was the Lower Bracket Final between Ryley and LucasXGamer, a battle between the North and South sides of the Americas region that the former won 2:1. English, Portuguese, and Russian viewers were especially interested in this clash as the likes of Narek and Allan Franzotti showed high interest in proceedings.

The third Supercell tournament to be conducted was the Clash of Clans World Championship 2024. It ended as the game's second-most popular event ever and among its most successful ones so far, as six of the best teams in the globe faced off for a prize purse of $1 million.
This Clash of Clans tournament registered 68K PV, 317.2K HW, and 33.1K AV over an airtime of 10 hours. The peak concurrent viewership figure has been bettered only once before, by the Clash of Clans World Championship 2020, which remains the only competition in the discipline to touch 80K peak concurrent viewers.

The most popular match was the Grand Final between Synchronic Gaming and Tribe Gaming, with the former coming out as 14:11 victors. The winning team, representing Germany, pocketed $300,000, while the losing finalist, from America, had to be content with $150,000.
It's been another important year for Supercell and its three mobile esports titles that remain niche favorites among players of the MOBA shooter genre. With Brawl Stars' event hitting record numbers and the game continuing to be a hit on live-streaming, it signals exciting times ahead for fans.
