Brazil sets a record for viewership in Rainbow Six regional leagues
Over the last few days, some of the regional leagues that serve as pathways to the first Major of the 2024 Rainbow Six Siege season concluded. Having capped off their maiden year of association with the record-breaking Six Invitational 2024, Ubisoft and BLAST refined the ecosystem this year to ensure improved leagues and events.
The first month of the new season has seen teams get back into the groove and put any signs of off-season rust away as they gear up for another long season of Rainbow 6 action. With that in mind, here's a recap of what transpired at the four regional leagues that ended over the past week.
Rainbow Six Regional Leagues viewership recap

Brazil League 2024 - Stage 1 was the best-performing one in terms of audience figures among the four regional leagues that ended recently. It hit 45.4K Peak Viewers and 1.8M Hours Watched over an airtime of 80 hours while also achieving 23.5K Average Viewers.
A change in the Group Stage to a Round-Robin format saw more games being played by each team, which resulted in this event outperforming both its counterparts from last year. It did 101.3% and 127.8% better than the Brazil League 2023 Stage 1 and Brazil League 2023 Stage 2, respectively, mostly on the back of more matches and airtime that was 65% more.

In fact, these numbers have made it the most-watched competition ever in this crucial region for Rainbow 6 competition when not counting the game's world championship. Interestingly, the top two positions are the first regional leagues held over the last two years, with the 2024 iteration also becoming the most popular in this market when not looking at international tournaments, i.e., Majors or Invitationals.
What helped was the stellar performances of highly-followed sides like FaZe Clan, FURIA Esports, and w7m esports, with the former two finishing in the top three to seal their places at the BLAST R6 Major Manchester 2024. The latter side, meanwhile, qualified for the Brazil League 2024 - Stage 1: Last Chance Qualifier where they will battle for the final spot in the year's first Major.

Rainbow 6 League 2024 Stage 1 — Most popular regional competitions
The North America League 2024 - Stage 1 was the next best in terms of attracting viewership, recording 1M Hours Watched, 24.4K Peak Viewers, and 14.9K Average Viewers over 71 hours of airtime. However, this more or less continued the trend of numbers for this region falling over the last two years, and the organizers will have a big task if they want to see improved returns.
The Stage 1 events in Japan and South Korea come next. These regional leagues also had the new format to thank for improved showings in audience numbers, with the former ending as the market's fourth most-viewed event ever and entering the top ten for peak viewership.
The latter event was even more successful, ending as the region's most watched and third-most popular competition of all time. The good performances of renowned teams in these regions like PSG Talon, Dplus KIA, and SCARZ undoubtedly helped pull in more viewers.
In Japan, the rise in the number of channels covering the first proper R6 competition of the season aided in reaching a wider audience base. Meanwhile, in South Korea, the addition of new live-streaming CHZZK helped attract the interest of even more fans, with AfreecaTV's added presence being a positive too.
Having created history with the Six Invitational 2024 to close out the 2023 season, the organizers have done well to keep things interesting and add excitement to the new year. The path to the first Major of 2024 has already pulled in quite a healthy crowd and with the remaining events in Stage 1 of the Rainbow 6 League 2024 ending over the next week, readers can expect some more good news.
