The Esports World Cup 2025 has finally come to a close. After 7 weeks of intense esports action packed into a singular summer festival, the EWC 2025 concluded with historic viewership results, marking significant improvements year-on-year across various key metrics. Esports Charts presents the overall viewership of the 2025 circuit compared to 2024, highlighting the unstoppable growth of the series.

For 2025, the EWC brought in new games to the fold, such as Valorant, expanding the reach and influence of this gaming circuit. The title also expanded its prize pools — a monstrous task for a circuit that boasted over $62,500,000 in prizes last year — and reached over 3,000,000 concurrent viewers at a single tournament for the first time ever.

Overall, the Esports World Cup 2025 recorded a massive 51.3% jump in watch time and settled at 183,944,163 Hours Watched, accumulated across almost 1,700 hours of total broadcasting time. To contextualize this figure, this is more than the Kings League, BLAST Premier series, and MLBB Professional Leagues have each accumulated throughout 2025 so far.

Esports World Cup 2025 total viewership results

For the first time in the competition’s history, a single EWC event surpassed the 3 million concurrent viewers mark. The MLBB Mid Season Cup 2025 is the premier mid-year event for the world’s favorite mobile gaming esports title, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and the 2025 edition set a new all-time high for the EWC. Last year, the EWC X MLBB Mid Season Cup 2024 was also the most popular tournament of the festival, having reached 2,382,990 Peak Viewers.

The result of the recent MLBB and EWC collaboration highlights the power of integrating existing esports events into the calendar for the EWC. By integrating existing tournaments instead of creating new ones, the EWC can make use of official broadcasting channels known to fans and benefit from the pre-existing reputation of the event.

With expanded circuits, increased international participation, and consistently rising engagement, the Esports World Cup has cemented itself as one of the premier global esports events, setting the stage for even greater numbers in the years to come.
