How many viewers does the female Valorant attract?
Mid-November marked the end of two Valorant tournaments for female teams — VCT 2021: Game Changers EMEA Series 3 и Protocolo Evolução. Usually, women's esports is not very popular among the viewers, but these events were able to gain quite high numbers within the discipline and bypass some of the male events featuring the top teams in different regions.
Statistics of VCT 2021: Game Changers EMEA Series 3
VCT 2021: Game Changers EMEA Series 3 featured 16 teams that competed for a prize pool of $56.8K. Among the famous teams, Guild X, Oxxgen Esports and TENSTAR Nova played at the tournament, as well as G2 Gozen, which took first place and won $18K. The latter club is represented by such legends of female CS:GO as juliano and zAAz, who have been playing together for over seven years.

VCT 2021: Game Changers EMEA Series 3 collected 237.8K Hours Watched in 23 hours of airtime; the event attracted 10.5K Average Viewers, and 21K Peak Viewers. These are very decent numbers for female esports. In comparison, the event scored 9.5% more Hours Watched than the recently concluded Rising Series Finale LAN tournament, which featured male European tier-2 teams. Likewise, the female tournament outperformed it in terms of average and peak viewership by 87.5% and 45.5%, respectively.

The most popular team of the event was G2 Gozen, which attracted 14.2K Average Viewers. The second spot was taken by Guild X, the squad that represents David Beckham's organization; this tournament was only the third for the roster — as before it only performed at the first two events of the series. The team’s matches were watched by 12.9K Average Viewers, and the Hours Watched indicator was 40.6% higher than that of G2 Gozen.
Closing the top 3 were Chat Banned, Oxxgen, and SMARACIS Esports Female. The teams' matches were watched by 10.8K, 9.4K, and 8.6K Average Viewers, respectively.

Statistics of Protocolo Evolução
The Protocolo Evolução event was also held in November for female teams from Brazil, which competed for a prize pool of $18K. Gamelanders Purple, a fairly well-known team in their region, became the winner and was awarded with $6.3K.
The top 4 teams of Protocolo Evolução also included B4 Angels, Havan Liberty Female and Stars Horizon Vênus — which won $4.3K, $2.2K, and $1.6K in prize money, respectively. The amounts of money earned by the rest of the participants ranged from $720 to $1K.
The indicators reached by Protocolo Evolução are impressive for a tournament featuring female squads that are only popular within their home region. The event was on air for 40 hours and collected 154.8K Hours Watched. The matches of the championship gathered 3.8K Average Viewers and more than 8.4K Peak Viewers.
Protocolo Evolução attracted more viewers compared to many tournaments for male teams. For example, the event outperformed Mineski VxV 2021 Invitational Playoffs which featured top Filipino teams, including Team Secret и Nigma Galaxy. Protocolo Evolução’s Hours Watched, Average and Peak Viewers indicators turned out to be 233%, 174%, and 189% higher, which indicates the high interest of Brazilians in the female Valorant.
Protocolo Evolução also exceeded the European Finest Invitational, which featured Natus Vincere, Alliance, Movistar Riders and Team Finest. The Brazilian tournament amassed 7.5 times more Hours Watched and almost 4 times more Average Viewers.

B4 Angels became the most popular team of Protocolo Evolução with 5.3K Average Viewers watching their matches. In addition, the team’s games versus Gamelanders Purple, Stars Horizon Vênus and Cruzeiro entered the top five in the tournament.
The second and third spots were occupied by Gamelanders Purple and Stars Horizon Vênus, which gathered 5K and 4K Average Viewers, respectively. Closing the top 5 were breakout and Cruzeiro, whose matches were watched by 3.5K and 3.4K Average Viewers.

Interestingly, Protocolo Evolução's qualifiers had almost the same viewership. For the four events, the Average Viewers indicator ranged from 1.3K to 1.6K, while the Peak Viewers indicator ranged from 2K to 3K, which indicates a small but stable interest of Brazilian viewers in the female Valorant.

As in the case of VCT 2021: Game Changers EMEA Series 3, many Protocolo Evolução participants already have a stable fan base. For example, nat1 from Gamelanders Purple has previously played for female teams in CS:GO and has achieved local success, while her teammates naxy and drn have played Fortnite и Point Blank.
