Schedule of the ALGS: 2023 Championship
Organized by EA and Respawn Entertainment, it acts as the world championship for Apex Legends esports. The tournament will be split into three stages — Group Stage (September 6 and September 7), Bracket Stage (September 7 and September 9), and Finals (September 10) — that will be held across five days.
The Group Stage of the ALGS: 2023 Championship will see the 40 sides distributed into four groups of ten teams each. Twenty teams with the highest score will start in the winners' bracket (of the Bracket Stage), while the other 20 rosters will move to the losers' bracket round 1.
The Finals will see the 20 remaining teams compete using the Match Point format, with the ten sides that advance from the winners' bracket getting seeded based on their placement, thus starting the Finals with Advance Starting Points. The winner receives $600K, the runner-up pockets $320K, and the third-placed side walks away with $210K.

What happened at the ALGS: 2022 Championship?

The Apex Legends Global Series: 2022 Championship was a LAN tournament held at the PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina, from July 7 to July 10. DarkZero Esports from Australia were the victors, taking home $500K out of the $2M total prize pool.
It had to go through much controversy due to the organizational and logistical issues arising from the USA's rules for travel and stay regarding the coronavirus. However, all this helped bring lots of attention to the competition, which became the most watched and second-most popular one in discipline history.

Like 2022, when lots of players and teams could not travel due to restrictions that led to a lot of last-minute hassle for teams, there were lots of visa issues for players and members looking to attend this year’s tournament. In fact, many e-athletes have not been able to procure their visas on time, forcing them to miss out on this highly-coveted event once again.
This led to many calling it the most controversial Apex Legends competition ever, and that is something the organizers will look to avoid this time around. For the 2023 edition, Alliance and Aurora Gaming have already seen their players scamper to get their visas done on time, currently using substitutes until their main players find a way to arrive. It remains to be seen how it all plays out, and if teams can get their starting players to travel, things should not become as harrowing as last time.
