IEM Dallas opens with massive viewership growth, fueled by s1mple’s FaZe debut
IEM Dallas 2025 is off to a record-breaking start, with Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyljev’s long-awaited debut in FaZe Clan driving a massive viewership surge. The opening day of the Intel Extreme Masters event in Dallas doubled last year’s numbers across all key metrics, setting the stage for one of the most popular Counter-Strike tournaments of the year.

The event features the world’s top teams, including heavyweights like Team Vitality, Team Falcons, and a newly retooled FaZe Clan, where s1mple has taken the place of Helvijs "broky" Saukants. The Ukrainian legend’s debut match, despite ending in a 0:2 loss to Team Liquid, drew over 789,000 peak concurrent viewers: 119% more than the day’s second most popular game.

S1mple’s presence alone sparked extraordinary growth: total watch time jumped by 104%, average viewership followed suit, and peak numbers soared by 13% compared to last year’s first day. Numbers like these are a rare sight without a superstar moment, and this one certainly delivered.
No teams were eliminated on Day 1, but that changes today as some face an early exit. One of the biggest names in danger is FaZe Clan, now battling BC.Game Esports in a knockout match to stay in the tournament. Keep up with the action and all the viewership stats on Esports Charts!
