The International 2024 Qualifiers — Western Europe and Southeast Asia results
Among the last two regional leagues that serve as domestic qualifiers for The International 2024, the Southeast Asia qualifier saw almost 168K Peak Viewers, a rise from last year. Meanwhile, the Western Europe event continued to see a steep decline in viewership compared to previous years, with the gap between its Eastern and SEA counterparts in terms of popularity decreasing by the year.
The International 2024: Western Europe Closed Qualifier

As the main market for Dota 2 globally, Western Europe continues to dominate the news pages. However, the stark reality is that it continues to bleed viewers annually, with its latest closed qualifiers for the biggest competition of the year reiterating this fact.
This tournament managed just 181.1K PV during the Upper Bracket Quarterfinals between OG and Nigma Galaxy on Day 1. This was 19.5% less than the previous year, which itself saw a decline of 58.2% from 2022, so while the fall might have been lower, it remains something the league can look into.

None of the two sides mentioned above made it to the last three rounds, but they attracted enough audience attention to end as the two most popular sides. The International 2024: Western Europe Closed Qualifier also hit 4.6M Hours Watched and 85.5K Average Viewers over 54 hours of airtime, with the former's decrease compared to 2023 clocking at 17.1%.
English and Russian continued to dominate the watch time pie, with community casters like gorgc and just_ns emerging as crucial contributors. The presence of NAVI Junior also meant that Ukrainian channel dota2_maincast finished as one of the more watched ones as the side made it all the way to the Lower Bracket Semifinal.
This tournament also had other renowned names like Team Secret and PSG Quest. However, it was Entity and Tundra Esports who qualified for the season-defining finale that will be held at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen in September.
The International 2024: Southeast Asia Closed Qualifier

The International 2024: Southeast Asia Closed Qualifier might not be the most glamorous, but it has slowly emerged as one of the most followed ones in the game. It also continues to bring in more viewers, with its peak viewership being a 15.8% improvement from 2023.

It also registered 2.2M HW and 47.3K Average Viewers, with the watch time witnessing a slight reduction only because of a reduced airtime of 47 hours. What helped it emerge as more popular was the return of a highly supported side like Talon Esports, who ended up winning the entire thing and booking its slot at The International 2024 alongside Aurora.
It has to be noted that this Dota 2 event had continued to miss the presence of another massive name — T1 — who disbanded at the end of 2022. Moreover, the bad performance of Blacklist International, a mega-popular name, affected viewership as it played only two games and was knocked out in the Lower Bracket Round 2.
