Talon Esports score latest first blood in Dota 2 history during BTS Pro Series Season 14: SEA
In the Upper Bracket Final against Blacklist Riavlry, Talon Esports made Dota 2 history with the latest first blood of all time during a professional Dota 2 game. The news was confirmed by esports data enthusiast Ben Steenhuisen, citing stats from datDota. For over 22 minutes, neither Blacklist nor Talon could secure a kill. Even a tier-2 tower was destroyed while the kill counter remained 0:0. Finally, Talon Esports’ Mikoto managed to take out Blacklist TIMS at 22 minutes and 28 seconds.
The BO3 itself ended in a similar fashion, with Talon Esports beating Blacklist Rivalry 2:1. The team has now advanced to the Grand Final of the BTS Pro Series Season 14: South East Asia. However, we might still see a rematch between the two, as the second finalist is yet to be decided during the Lower Bracket Final. Tomorrow, Blacklist faces Fnatic for a chance at qualifying for the Grand Final and taking revenge on Talon.
Organized by Beyond The Summit, the Pro Series Season 14: SEA started on January 28. Twelve teams were invited to the tournament, four of which already received Playoffs spots. The other squads had to battle through a Group Stage and finish among the top 4 to qualify for the Playoffs. However, none of those who qualified made it through the Playoffs. XERIA and Polaris Esports survived the longest but were eventually beaten by Blacklist and Fnatic in the Upper and Lower Bracket Semifinals.

The BTS Pro Series Season 14: SEA and its Americas iteration are relatively even in terms of viewership. Although the Pro Series Season 14: Americas has higher Airtime, the SEA region leads in Hours Watched, Peak Viewers, and Average Viewers. For example, SEA’s Pro Series peaked at over 31,000 concurrent viewers during the Upper Bracket Semifinal between Talon and BOOM Esports. In comparison, beastcoast and Ravens’ Quarterfinal in the Americas division peaked at nearly half of that. Similarly, SEA has accumulated more than 490,000 HW while Americas is slightly lower at almost 460,000 HW. However, it should be noted that most of the Bracket Semifinals and Finals of the Pro Series Americas haven’t been played yet. The most-watched teams in each of the SEA and Americas editions so far have been Blacklist and beastcoast.
Tomorrow at 8 am GMT+0, the BTS Pro Series Season 14: SEA will come to an end. Two days later, the Americas edition will follow. We’ll then find out which team in each region will take first place and win $16,000. Moreover, event stats remain subject to change until then. Once the dust settles, some of the Pro Series teams will take on their next challenge: The Lima Major 2023, with a prize pool of $500,000.
