M6 World Championship grand final sees tournament become the most-watched MLBB world championship
The M6 World Championship was capped off by Fnatic ONIC PH claiming their first ever MLBB World Championship after defeating Team Liquid Indonesia. The clash between top Filipino and Indonesian teams led to 4.13M Peak Viewers, making it the third-most popular M series event. Although the event did not manage to break any records in terms of peak concurrent viewership, it grew in viewership overall and became the most-watched iteration of the MLBB World Championship.
The grand final contributed millions of hours of watch time to the event’s total. Throughout the last day of the M6, viewership was maintained at 2.22M Average Viewers, which largely came from Indonesia. RRQ Hoshi’s elimination by Selangor Red Giants in the lower bracket quarterfinals indeed restricted the event’s total potential; the Indonesian fan-favourites had previously recorded Indonesian Peaks of 2.55M and 2.95M, the latter in their game against TLID.

For the grand finals featuring Team Liquid ID, Indonesian viewership reached a peak of 2.35M concurrent viewers. Tagalog-speaking audiences supported the Fnatic ONIC PH both on YouTube and through TikTok, which was a highly popular option for fans. TikTok not only reached a new Tagalog-language viewership record during the finals, but at 1.35M TikTok Peak the platform set a record for peak viewers of an esports live broadcast.

While Indonesian MLBB audiences clearly have a much higher potential than 2.35M PV, as shown by the recent MPL Indonesia Season 14 which reached over 3.7M Indonesian Peak, the overall result of the M6 World Championship was nonetheless strong. The M6 hosted highly-watched group and wildcard stages leading into playoffs; ultimately, the finals gave the M6 the boost it needed to become the most-watched M series event ever.

In total, the M6 World Championship received 85.6M Hours Watched. The event was the fourth-most-watched MLBB esports event ever, only falling behind some MPL Indonesia seasons, which all recorded broadcasting times at least a hundred hours more than the M6.
ONIC Philippines announced a partnership with Fnatic in May earlier this year, rebuilding their team around K1NGKONG and star-player Kelra. Throughout the M6, Kelra won four different Star of the Day awards, and even claimed the Finals MVP medal. So far during Fnatic ONIC PH’s MLBB journey, they have claimed a MPL Philippines championship as well as a world title.
