First-ever title for CTBC Flying Oyster — PCS Summer 2022 results

Last weekend saw the end of PCS Summer 2022, a League of Legends summer split, which was won by CTBC Flying Oyster, a team founded at the beginning of the year. In a new article, Esports Charts will sum up the results of the tournament, its audience statistics, as well as tell you about the most popular matches of the event.

Tournament Results

The best team in the group stage of PCS Summer 2022 is PSG Talon, the Spring Split champion. However, CTBC finalists Flying Oyster and Beyond Gaming advanced to the playoffs from fourth and sixth place, respectively. CTBC Flying Oyster defeated Frank Esports, PSG Talon and Beyond Gaming on its way to the Grand finals, and beat Beyond Gaming 3-0 in the title match.

Both PCS Summer 2022 finalists qualified for Worlds 2022, but CTBC Flying Oyster will start in the Group Stage, and Beyond Gaming will start in the Play-In. Although PSG Talon took third place, the tournament MVP medal went to Gori, a mid lane player of this team.

PCS Summer 2022 Viewership Statistics

PCS Summer 2022 matches totaled nearly 2.6 million Hours Watched and 17.9K Average Viewers. The event reached its Peak Viewers number of 67.7K viewers at the lower bracket finals between PSG Talon and Beyond Gaming. At the same time, the Grand final of the split was watched by 26% fewer viewers.

The most popular and most watched team of the tournament is Beyond Gaming: the matches of the team accounted for more than 33% of the total Hours Watched number of the split, and its Average Viewers number was 23.4K people. PSG Talon is next, behind Beyond Gaming by only a few percent in terms of the same metrics. The Top 5 most popular teams of the event also includes CTBC Flying Oyster, Deep Cross Gaming and J Team.

PCS Summer 2022 ranks second among the Pacific League's most popular tournaments. It outpaced the spring split by nearly 2% of Peak Viewers, but lagged behind PCS Summer 2021 by 38% in this metric.
