The fourth PGL Wallachia tournament concluded on April 27, with Team Liquid continuing its winning run. Crucially, it continued the series' run of notching livestreaming milestones by finishing as one of its most popular events yet, undoubtedly helped by the identity of the finalists.

The PGL Wallachia Season 4, held at the PGL Studio in Bucharest, saw Team Liquid clinch its second straight trophy. After a slow start to the 2025 season, the reigning world champion seems to have regained its mojo, with its successes pushing the series to new heights.

The fourth edition of the PGL Wallachia witnessed some of the world's top teams battle for a prize pool of $1 million, including Tundra Esports, Team Spirit, and Team Falcons. Only the last name, arguably the most consistent side in 2024, failed to make the Playoffs, so fan interest remained high heading into the last few matches.

The PGL Wallachia Season 4 hit 399,008 Peak Viewers (PV) during the Grand Final between PARIVISION and Team Liquid. This made it the second most popular competition in the series after the first iteration, which peaked at 486,560 concurrent viewers. It was also third among the four editions held so far in terms of watch time, touching 13.77 million Hours Watched (HW).

The nearly 400,000 PV this Dota 2 event touched also put it among the game's most popular events of the year. Leading the pack is the DreamLeague Season 25 with 416,220 peak concurrent viewers, notched thanks to the increased involvement of Russian audiences.

Team Liquid and PARIVISION also had three appearances each on the chart for the most popular matches at the PGL Wallachia Season 4. Both their matches took the top two spots, with the games of other prominent esports organizations like Team Spirit, Aurora Gaming, and BetBoom Team also finding favor among audiences.

What generated extra interest among fans in the Grand Final was that Team Liquid had lost seven straight matches to PARIVISION, including a 1:2 defeat in the Upper Bracket Final, so there was a sense of this being a revenge series. It was also a clash between two top sides on the global rankings for the year, as PARIVISION had already won one event and finished on the podium twice at Tier-1 competitions heading into Romania.

Eventually, Team Liquid clinched a thrilling yet nervy encounter 3:2 to continue its fine recent form and take home $300,000. PARIVISION pocketed $175,000 as both finalists finished among the most popular sides by Average Viewers (AV) at this Dota 2 tournament.

It's been a busy start to the Dota 2 season, with events like the BLAST Slam II, DreamLeague Season 25, and ESL One Raleigh 2025 hitting major milestones. News about this season's The International has also been disclosed, but before we get to this massive season-ending finale, there will be lots of other competitions to look forward to for fans of the game.
