PUBG Global Series 6 became game’s most-watched tournament of 2024 and set new series record for peak viewership
The PUBG Global Series 6 wrapped up over the weekend in Thailand, marking the final major tournament before the PUBG Global Championship 2024. The event peaked at over 320,000 concurrent viewers and delivered one of the best audience reach numbers for the game this year.
The biggest surprise of PGS6 was the disappointing performance of some of its notable Global Partners — Natus Vincere, Soniqs, and Petrichor Road. Despite their high status, none of them even made it into the top 16 after the first stage, getting knocked out early. For context, NAVI are the reigning PUBG Global Championship 2022 champions, and both Soniqs and Petrichor Road recently competed in the finals of the Esports World Cup 2024.
In the end, Twisted Minds took the crown at PGS6, continuing their dominance after winning PGS4 and PGS5. The Eastern European squad is firmly established as one of the top teams in PUBG esports.
The PUBG Global Series 6 generated nearly 3.5 million Hours Watch, making it the most-watched tournament of 2024 so far. Among all events in the series, only PGS2 and PGS1 from 2023 had slightly higher numbers.
The peak for PGS6 was over 327,000 concurrent viewers setting a new record for the series. Right now, PGS6 is the second-highest in peak viewership for PUBG events in 2024, with only the PUBG Nations Cup 2024 — featuring national teams from around the world — drawing more viewers. However, the upcoming PUBG Global Championship 2024 is likely to bump PGS6 down another spot on this list.
As for average viewership, PGS6 averaged 124.8k concurrent viewers, which is the second-best in series history, just a few thousand behind the numbers from PGS4.
PGS6 has become the most-watched PUBG tournament in 2024
In 2024, the PUBG Global Series has shown steady growth in watch time with each tournament. PGS6, in particular, outpaced Season 5 by 3.4%, coming close to hitting the 3.5 million HW mark.
When it comes to peak viewership, PGS6 beat the previous season by 19.8%. Among all PUBG events this year, it ranks second, just behind the hugely successful PUBG Nations Cup in September.

Recent PUBG Global Series tournaments have shown impressive consistency in audience reach, with key metrics remaining relatively stable from season to season.
That said, there have been some interesting shifts in language and platform trends. On PGS6, the average viewership for Thai broadcasts saw a noticeable boost, likely due to the tournament being held in Thailand and the fact that three Thai teams made it to the finals. Compared to the previous tournament, peak viewership in Vietnamese also grew, and there was a solid 32% increase in peak viewership on the NimoTV platform.
YouTube continues to be the dominant streaming platform for PGS, increasing its share of total Hours Watched from 56% in PGS5 to 58%. On the flip side, TikTok's share dropped from 9% to 5.7%, mainly due to a decline in reach on the pubg_battlegrounds_vn channel.
