New CS:GO record on Portuguese-language streams: PGL Major Antwerp 2022 Legends Stage day 2 results

The first teams of PGL Major Antwerp 2022 playoffs were determined on May 15, as well as the two teams that were the first to leave the Legends stage. In the new article, Esports Charts will talk about the results of the second day of the Legends Stage and tell you about the tournament’s new peak by viewers and the record audience of Gaules.

Results of the matches

On the second day, Natus Vincere defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas, while Team Spirit defeated Copenhagen Flames: both teams completed the Legends Stage with three wins and became the first participants in the playoffs, which will begin on May 19. In the knockout matches, Team Vitality defeated Team Liquid, while Imperial Esports defeated Bad News Eagles. The losing teams took the 15th-16th spots and earned $8.75K each, and the winners advanced to the lower bracket of the fourth round of the Legends Stage. Heroic, ENCE, FaZe Clan, and FURIA won the matches for reaching the upper bracket of the fourth round. Meanwhile, their rivals (G2 Esports, Outsiders, Cloud9, and BIG) got into the lower bracket.

Viewership statistics

In total, the broadcasts of the second day of PGL Major Antwerp 2022 Legends Stage amassed 5.69M Hours Watched and 547K Average Viewers. A mark of 11.M Peak Viewers was reached on that day as well. This is the highest indicator of the tournament at the time of publication and the best among the second days of the Legends Stage across all CS:GO majors. It was reached during the matches of NiP against NAVI and Imperial against Bad News Eagles, with the majority of the audience following the game of the Ukrainian team against the Swedes.

Note that the second day of the Legends Stage was more successful than the first in terms of Peak and Average Viewers: by 5% and 8.5%, respectively. At the same time, its total Hours Watched was fewer by 4.5%. This day also saw the update of the tournament’s Peak Viewers indicator on Twitch — 970.8K.

The game between Ninjas in Pyjamas and Natus Vincere gathered 795.9K Peak Viewers and became the most popular match of the Major so far. In turn, 640.9K Peak Viewers watched the battle between Imperial Esports and Bad News Eagles. It should be mentioned that during the match, the Brazilian streamer Gaules gathered more than 437K Peak Viewers, which became a new record for his Twitch channel.

On the first day of the Legends Stage a record was set for Peak Viewers on Albanian CS:GO streams, and on the second day a similar record was set by Portuguese-language broadcasts: they managed to attract 470K viewers, which is 18.4% more than the previous language record in the discipline, set during the BLAST Premier Spring 2020 American Finals grand final between Evil Geniuses and MIBR. Thus, the shooter from Valve came in second in terms of the Peak Viewers in the Portuguese-speaking esports segment:

  • Free Fire — 1.1M PV;
  • CS:GO — 470K PV;
  • LoL — 416K PV;
  • Valorant — 353K PV;
  • Rainbow 6 — 117K PV.

Today, on May 16, in the matches for reaching the playoffs of the Major, FaZe Clan will face Copenhagen Flames, NiP will face FURIA, and ENCE will face Heroic. Meanwhile, the knockout matches will feature BIG, G2, and Cloud9 fighting Vitality, Outsiders, and Imperial, respectively.
