Six Charlotte Major 2022 — viewership results of the tournament
Several top tournaments in the most popular disciplines ended last weekend, including Rainbow Six Siege. The Six Charlotte Major 2022 could have gone unnoticed during CS:GO and Dota 2 events, but it still showed relatively good spectator statistics even though it was held at the same time with such popular championships. Esports Charts sums up the results of the championship and tells about the audience it has attracted.
Six Charlotte Major 2022 Recap
The R6 Major was held in Charlotte, North Carolina (USA) and became the first international event in the discipline in more than two years that fans were able to attend. The matches were hosted by the Charlotte Convention Center, which can accommodate up to 1.8K guests.
Unfortunately, not all teams were able to take part in the tournament: the Brazilian squads Team oNe, W7m and FURIA could not get American visas in time and were forced to play the tournament from the Ubisoft studio in Mexico. In addition, Elevate from Thailand completely missed the tournament, as well as teams from Russia (including Team Empire), since the organizers completely banned all the local teams from events since the start of war in Ukraine.

Squads from North America dominated throughout the tournament: only one Brazilian team, Team Liquid, made it to the top 4. In the grand final, DarkZero Esports and Astralis played a really tense match, which ended with a score of 3:2 in favor of DZ.

Six Charlotte Major 2022 VIewership Results
Only three matches have overcome the mark of 100,000 simultaneous viewers in the entire tournament. It is noteworthy that the largest audience was gathered not by the decisive match, but by the semi-final between DarkZero and Team Liquid, which was watched by up to 121.5K viewers. The final attracted 114K people, which makes it the second most popular one in the tournament.
Tournament was broadcast on Twitch and YouTube, but the most popular streams took place on Amazon-owned platform. English-language and Portuguese-language R6 channels were in the top, and the Team Liquid’s streamer RazaH became the top community caster.

In terms of peak audience, Six Charlotte Major 2022 has become only the fifth most popular major in the history of the discipline. The number one spot is still held by the Six Major Raleigh, which took place back in 2019. It is worth noting that although current tournament turned out to be far from the most popular within the discipline, it still showed better results in terms of viewers than the Six Sweden Major held in November 2021.
Rainbow Six season will continue with matches in regional leagues, and the next major will take place in mid-August. Subscribe to our social networks to not miss any news on R6 esports.
