Six Invitational 2022 — Qualifiers Results & Should We Expect a New Record in the Discipline?
The sixth Rainbow Six Siege Invitational begins on February 8 in Stockholm. The World Championship will feature 20 top teams from America, Asia and Europe, which will compete for a share of the $3 million prize pool. Esports Charts sums up the qualifiers stats, the last one of which ended early February.
There are 16 of the 20 participating teams in the tournament determined by the results of the esports season, which includes the majors and regional leagues. Brazil will represent the most teams at the event: five local teams qualified for the World Cup by Global Points rankings, and one more team won the regional qualifier in Latin America.
The biggest surprise at the qualifiers was MNM Gaming's victory in the European division. The team just made it to European League at the end of last December, and already solidified its success by winning the world championship qualifier. Moreover, it knocked out of the competition the favorites such as Team Vitality and Team Secret.

Latin America gathered the largest audience in the qualifiers. More than 44.8K Peak Viewers watched MIBR's victory over Black Dragons e-Sports in the qualifiers finals. This is 12% more than the maximum simultaneous audience of the European qualifiers finals (the second highest Peak Viewers number among the regions). In addition, the qualifiers for the LATAM countries became the leader in total Hours Watched — 714K HW (22% more than Europe amassed).
The qualifiers for Asia and Oceania were of the least excitement among the viewers. The final match in the region between CYCLOPS athlete gaming and Invictus Gaming International had only 19.1K Peak Viewers.

One of the intrigues about the Six Invitational 2022 is whether it can finally break the discipline's record by viewership. At the moment, the most popular Rainbow Six Siege event is the 2018 World Championship, which gathered more than 316K Peak Viewers. It should be noted that the top five R6 events include the last four Six Invitationals at once, with the difference between first and fourth place being less than 13K viewers.
