Six Jönköping Major 2022: Average Audience Has Decreased

Six Jönköping Major 2022, the last of this year's major Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege tournaments, ended last weekend in Sweden. Sixteen teams from North America, Brazil, Europe and the APAC competed for a $500K prize pool. At the end of the Six Jönköping Major 2022 Group Stage, all APAC representatives, MNM Gaming and Heroic from Europe, as well as Spacestation Gaming and Mirage from North America dropped out of the tournament. At the same time, all Brazilian teams made it to the Playoffs.

The French Team BDS defeated the Brazilian Team Liquid in the Grand Final with a narrow 3-2 score and earned $200K. It is noteworthy that the future champion had a potential of not even making it into the Playoffs. At the end of Group C the team had the same statistics as Spacestation Gaming in wins and losses, and only a positive Round Difference saved them from elimination. Viewership Statistics

Six Jönköping Major 2022 broadcasts totaled more than 2.7 million Hours Watched and drew 45.2K Average Viewers. The event reached its Peak Viewers number of 121.8K people at the Liquid vs. BDS Grand Final. It should be noted that this match had twice as many Peak Viewers than any other match in the Major League.

We should also say that Ubisoft presented the biggest season in Rainbow Six Siege, Operation Solar Raid, on the first day of the Major, which will start on December 6. Team BDS takes second place, lagging behind the leader by fewer than 1% of AV. TSM, w7m esports and Wolves Esports are also in the Top 5 teams of the tournament by this metric.

English broadcasts rank as the most popular at Six Jönköping Major 2022. They attracted 54.9K PV and accounted for more than 56% of the tournament's HW. Portuguese-language streams take second place — their PV number was 48.4K people, and their contribution to the event's HW exceeded 25%. Japanese, French and German are also in the Top 5 languages of the Major's broadcasts by PV.

Most popular Rainbow Six Siege Majors

In comparison to previous majors, the statistics of Six Jönköping Major 2022 showed quite low results. The tournament ranked fifth by Peak Viewers, beating Six Charlotte Major 2022 by fewer than 1% of PV. Six Major Raleigh 2019, which drew more than 268.6K PV and 108K AV.

Six Jönköping Major 2022 ranked only eighth by AV. The tournament is 15% behind the regional Six November 2020 Major North America and nearly 60% behind Six Major Raleigh 2019.

One of the factors that contributed to the decline of Six Jönköping Major 2022 audience was the fact that the Major was held simultaneously with BLAST Premier Fall 2022 Finals, which caused the lack of English- and Portuguese-speaking viewers. Recall that the organizers held Six Charlotte Major 2022 during the CS:GO and Dota 2 Majors in May, and then the tournament statistics also dropped significantly.
