T1 vs Anyone's Legend became the most popular quarterfinal at Worlds 2025
T1 defeated Anyone’s Legend, securing the final spot in the semifinals of the 2025 World Championship. The thrilling series delighted League of Legends fans, drawing over 3.2 million peak viewers across broadcasts — making it the most popular match of the tournament so far.
Earlier in the tournament, the Chinese team Anyone’s Legend went undefeated through the Swiss Stage, taking down Korean powerhouses like HLE and Gen.G. In the first round of the Knockout Stage, they faced the legendary T1, led by Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok. Backed by their home crowd, Anyone’s Legend took an early lead and came close to victory — but T1 showed why they’re five-time world champions, proving they can win even under the toughest pressure.
This year marks Anyone’s Legend’s first-ever appearance at Worlds, and reaching the Knockout Stage is already a remarkable accomplishment for the debut team. As for T1, they’ll face China’s Top Esports in the semifinal match for a place in the Grand Final.

The match between T1 and Anyone’s Legend peaked at over 3.2 million viewers — 48% higher than the second most-popular quarterfinal between Gen.G and HLE. Overall, the final quarterfinal of Worlds 2025 saw growth across every metric. After all, T1 games consistently draw massive audiences, especially when the series turns out to be as thrilling as this one. This quarterfinal also set a new viewership record for matches featuring Anyone’s Legend.
There was a noticeable increase in viewership on both the English and Vietnamese broadcasts. So far, the final quarterfinal stands as the most-popular match in these languages at the tournament. However, the language-specific data is still being finalized.

T1 and Gen.G are still in the running at the 2025 World Championship, keeping hopes alive for a new viewership record. However, during last year’s 2024 World Championship, two quarterfinals surpassed 3.5 million peak viewers — a sign that audience engagement was higher at the time. It remains to be seen whether the semifinals will change the picture.
The 2025 World Championship semifinals will be held on November 1–2 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai. You can track match results and viewership stats on the Esports Charts event page.
