Top esports studio channels by active chatters, chat engagement rate
Twitch chat and the engagement it brews between the content creator and audiences is a great way to gauge the popularity of that channel. When it comes to esports, there are countless names that fans turn to for catching the live action and to be part of a community experience when doing the same.
The same can be said about organizations' channels, which see no shortage of activity among users, especially if there is an intense match happening or something worth talking about. To this effect, accounts related to some of the world's most popular disciplines like League of Legends, NFL, and FIFA see some of the highest number of users and chat engagement rates.
Top esports channels on Twitch by number of chat users

The most active esports channel between January 1 and February 22 was ESLCS, with 124.9K chat users. With the new Counter-Strike 2 season in full swing, there has been lots to talk about among fans and pundits, with major discussion points being the IEM Katowice 2024 and the BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2024. There was also Gaules getting excluded from PGL Major 2024 official broadcasting, which sent shockwaves across the competitive gaming world.
Next was easportsfc, the official channel of the newest game — EA Sports FC 24 — from Electronic Arts after the end of its legendary run alongside FIFA. With the FC Pro 24 Open spanning the first month of the new year and seeing the top 4 players qualify for the FC Pro World Championship, there was much excitement in the game's new circuit and how it would differ from previous seasons that ran with the FIFA banner. Crucially, drops were available, meaning Twitch or YouTube viewers with EA-linked accounts could earn in-game rewards, helping this channel stand out from the rest.
Third was the LEC, the first of three LoL channels to make this top ten, with 76.3K chat users. The LEC Winter 2024 was the main factor behind this activity as it showed the series' best viewership in three years thanks to community casting definitively outpacing official broadcasts in viewership. Ibai played a big part in this run as his team, MAD Lions KOI, went all the way to the Grand Final, while G2 Esports recorded its 12th split victory and booked spots in the LEC Finals 2024 and the Mid-Season Invitational 2024.
EAMaddenNFL came in fourth on the back of a record-setting Ultimate Bowl 2024, which ended as the most popular tournament ever in the discipline and the first to cross the 100K Peak Viewers mark. Moreover, drops were available to fans on Twitch and YouTube, with rewards including drop packs, token packs, and drop reward players.
Rounding off the top five was BLASTPremier, another highly-followed CS2 event organizer that houses some of its most followed tournaments. With so many competitions happening and the success of the BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2024, there is much to look forward to for fans of the shooter in what is a crucial year for its competitive scene after the change to the new game.
There are two more LoL and one more CS2 channels among the subsequent five names, pointing to their enduring fame among fans and the fact that they continue to draw in viewers and give them something to talk about even today. Then there is the official account of Rocket League, which continues to be a draw in certain regions and has been pulling in strong crowds across its RLCS 2024 - Major 1 qualifiers.
Lastly, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege has been doing mighty well thanks to the recently concluded Six Invitational 2024, which set a new esports viewership record for the discipline. With the likes of Jynxzi and Gaules covering proceedings, the overall number of unique channels rose by over three times from last year, bringing in new buzz and lots of chatter among fans.
What helped create such an atmosphere among users was the all-Brazilian Grand Final between w7m esports and FaZe Clan, with the former winning a stunning seven rounds in a row in the final map to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
Top esports channels on Twitch by Average Daily Engagement Rate

Topping this metric was EAMaddenNFL, with RocketLeague also making an appearance at the third spot. If nothing else, this reinforces the fact that these two titles retain faithful followings who turn up almost daily to see what the developments are not only in the esports segment but also in the overall landscape.
WarThunder_eSports was the second with an average daily engagement rate of 15.7%, one of only two channels to cross this mark. The official esports handle of War Thunder, the 2012 action FPS offering from Gaijin Entertainment, has been busy with the Thunder Cup 2024, its most prestigious tournament. With drops available for viewers, there was quite a lot of daily activity as fans would come online to catch the action and take home rewards like decals, player icons, and camouflages.
Fourth was ESB_Dota2, a Peru-based channel that was highly active covering various tournaments in the MOBA, including the BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024 and the DreamLeague Season 22. There were also the ESL One Birmingham 2024 qualifiers that reached more viewers than the ESL One Kuala Lumpur qualifier events.
Last in the top five came TEKKEN, the official channel of perhaps the most recognizable fighting game and series of all time. With the latest installment, part eight, still fresh in the public consciousness after its release on January 26, there's been lots of chatter among fans and gamers about the new game and all they like/dislike about it. Its success can be seen in the fact that the game sold over two million copies in its first month as per publisher Bandai Namco.
The bottom five names consist of organization channels from Sweden (esportstudion), America (LuminosityGaming), Taiwan (lolpacifictw), Brazil (Rainbow6BR), and Russia (cs2_paragon_ru). They covered events in titles like CS2, Rocket League, Rainbow6, and LoL, with these games emerging as some of the most popular today, meaning they generate lots of buzz daily.
Esports organization Luminosity Gaming was able to make it here thanks to its Luminosity Makes BIG Moves 2024 event during the first week of January. Competitions were held in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, with teams like FaZe Clan and Moist Esports also in the fray. Considering the popularity of these names, it is unsurprising there was a flurry of activity on chat regarding the action.
