Q3 2025 hosted some of esports’ most premiere tournaments, with top tier leagues and mid-season events, as well as some world championships for other games. Esports Charts takes a look back across the most popular teams of the quarter, based on their average concurrent viewership.
The third quarter of 2025 was dominated by LoL esports viewership, with a myriad of top-tier League of Legends events leading to no shortage of opportunities for teams. Korean superstars and fan-favourite organization T1 was the most popular squad of the quarter, and the only team this quarter to maintain a seven-figure Average Viewers, a major achievement for the squad.
For appearances across three tournaments, T1 maintained over 1,060,000 Average Viewers for the entire quarter, with their fans cheering them on to podium places at various events. T1 competed at the Mid-Season Invitational 2025 and the Esports World Cup 2025 in Q3, and although they were unable to claim victory at either, their deep playoffs runs helped them to generate some especially high viewership. At the MSI, T1’s grand-final match against local rivals Gen.G generated 3.45M Peak Viewers, a new series record for the mid-year tournament.

On the other side of the MOBA scene, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang came in second place with RRQ Hoshi leading at over 904,000 Average Viewers. The most popular mobile gaming esports team is one of the game’s most historic names, and for their appearances at the international MLBB Mid Season Cup 2025 and their own regional MPL Indonesia Season 15, they enjoyed strong support from their local fans.
RRQ Hoshi could only claim a 5th-place finish at the Mid Season Cup, and in the MPL Indonesia, they fell to their rivals ONIC Esports in the grand final, which was watched by over 4.1M Peak Viewers. Although unable to claim victory for Season 15, RRQ Hoshi was undoubtedly the most popular club of the league; in total, they generated over 51.3M Hours Watched for their matches, a result over 35% higher than the next-most-watched team.
Moving on from MOBAs to tactical shooters, Team Spirit was the most popular Counter-Strike 2 team of Q3 2025. The Russian organization was rocketed to the top of the Counter-Strike scene after finding great competitive success earlier this year. Their star rifler, Danil “donk” Kryshkovets, has become a bona fide Counter-Strike celebrity, with fans enthralled by his aggressive playstyle and the aim to back it up.
During Q3 2025, Team Spirit competed at four events, including IEM Cologne 2025 and BLAST Premier Bounty Season 2 2025, both of which they claimed victory at. Team Spirit’s victories at these events were closely followed by Russian-speaking Counter-Strike fans, who make up the majority of their audience. A strong, competitive roster backed by one of the game’s biggest audiences, Team Spirit is in a prime spot to stay at the top of Counter-Strike viewership.
Over in Valorant, Brazilian squad MIBR was the most popular team of the quarter, having earned over 360,000 Average Viewers. Brazil was previously one of Valorant’s largest esports audiences, but with Brazilian teams struggling competitive in recent years, viewership has waned. The recent results of MIBR show that this audience still possesses strong potential for Valorant esports viewership.

MIBR enjoyed an extremely strong Stage 1 this year, earning enough points to qualify for Valorant Champions 2025. The team put on an impressive show, advancing to the playoffs stage where they defeated Team Heretics before losing to NRG and then DRX. MIBR was one of the most popular teams of the entire event, and while they fell behind other teams like Fnatic at this specific event, the European squad’s average viewership was brought down by the results of their local EMEA league.
In our final ranking slot, Dota 2 made a return to the rankings thanks to the viewership of the dominant Team Falcons roster. The team competed at three events throughout Q3 2025, claiming victory at a FISSURE event, second-place at the Esports World Cup 2025, and most importantly, the title at The International 2025. As the new world champions of Dota 2, Team Falcons rightly claimed the top spot of their discipline with 333,000 Average Viewers.
These top performers for each title represent the most-followed team of the quarter, not always the most competitive. Strong results and playoff runs at events can often lead to high viewership for squads, but a loyal fan base is crucial for achieving consistent viewership across months. League of Legends and MLBB teams remain the top performers of the esports industry, and their world championships are soon approaching. Keep an eye out for the upcoming major events for the end of the year, and explore their viewership results mid-event with Esports Charts.
