Most exciting moments of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, decided by Twitch Chat
The BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 delighted Counter-Strike fans throughout the month of June with some of the most exciting esports action of the year. The MongolZ made their first ever Major finals appearance, but ultimately, Team Vitality took home their second Major title, in front of well over a million fans live. Esports Charts has collected a list of some of the most exciting moments of the Austin Major, determined by Twitch Chat.
Our data for this article is based on the speed of total Twitch Chat messages, across all official broadcasts and co-streams hosted on the purple platform. These top moments are what threw Twitch Chat into a frenzy, sometimes causing upwards of 10,000 total Twitch messages in a single minute. At the very top, the elimination match between MIBR and Team Falcons excited fans the most.

The elimination match between MIBR and Falcons was one of the most popular matches of Stage 2 at the Major, with it all coming down to the final Map of the series. After trading a win each comfortably, Team Falcons and MIBR headed to Inferno, the final stop for one of the two teams. The game went through multiple overtimes, with the teams’ composure being tested by the lengthy game.
The most popular moment of the Major was Round 6 of the second overtime, where Falcons secured a 5v3 post-plant situation on match point. Just as things seemed over for MIBR, Falcons’ composure cracked and they took some aggressive duels against the leftover players, giving MIBR a chance to get back into the game. As MIBR clawed their way back into the game, almost 12,000 Twitch Chat messages flooded the site in a single minute.
Just a few rounds later, MIBR had taken full advantage of Falcons’ mistake and turned the game around to matchpoint in their favour. The Brazilian team decided to switch up the pace of the game, which had been very slow and methodical, with a fast Apartments rush, two rounds in a row. As MIBR stood ready in the Apartments to all rush out, Twitch Chat could barely contain their emotions for what was ultimately Falcons’ final round of the Major.
The grand finals between The MongolZ and Team Vitality also had its fair share of exciting moments, with Techno4k managing a clutch to keep his team in the running as Team Vitality stood at matchpoint on Map 3. The Mongolian team had no shortage of highlight reels, and on Mirage in particular, their AWPer 910 was dancing around Team Vitality. The Mongolian AWPer rotated around the map, catching Vitality players in B apartments, mid, and through connector. No matter where Vitality rotated, it seemed 910 was ready for them.
Aside from the grand final, which was of course very popular, G2 Esports’ elimination match against the Mongolian team was also a highly-followed moment of the Major. The legendary esports organization has come through some significant roster changes in recent time, and as they fought for survival at the Major, fans cheered, shouted their dismay, or cracked jokes through Twitch Chat. The match was extremely close between the two teams, even going to six total overtimes. As the overtime tension built and built, Twitch Chat traffic boiled over during these tense overtime rounds.
