Worlds 2021 is the main event for League of Legends players and fans, attracting millions of viewers. In our new article, we have collected all the main information about the competition.
When will Worlds 2021 take place?
The tournament will run from October 5 to November 6. The 2021 World Championship will feature 22 teams from all over the world, with a total prize pool of $ 2.2 million. Teams from VCS (Vietnam) will not be able to come to the competition due to visa problems: they miss the tournament for the second year in a row, in 2020 they could not travel to China due to Vietnam's restrictions related to COVID-19.
Where will Worlds 2021 take place?
The event was originally supposed to take place in China, but in early September, Riot Games announced that the event would take place in Iceland's capital Reykjavik. The matches will be hosted by the Laugardalshöll arena.
Schedule:
Worlds 2021 will consist of three stages:
- Play-In (October 5-9);
- Group Stage (October 11-13 and October 15-18);
- Knockout Stage (October 22 - November 6).
The winning team will receive over $ 480,000.
