Fnatic and DRX are still flawless – Worlds 2022 Day 2 results

The second day of World Championship 2022 has come to an end, which means it's time for its overview. In the new article, Esports Charts will tell you which teams are the leaders of the Play-In, who is one step away from being eliminated from the tournament, and how many viewers were attracted by the most popular matches of the day.

Day 2 Results

Many previously isolated players have tested negative for coronavirus and returned to performing on stage in front of the fans. That included the entire Fnatic roster, which earned their third win in a row by defeating DetonatioN FocusMe. As part of the second day, Evil Geniuses defeated LOUD and Beyond Gaming, breaking into the second spot in the group. Closing the leaderboard of group A is Chiefs Esports Club with statistics of 0:2.

In group B, DRX broke into the first spot, defeating both İstanbul Wildcats and Saigon Buffalo on the second day. In turn, Isurus and İstanbul Wildcats have not been able to win a single match, and now they risk leaving the tournament on the third game day. MAD Lions and Saigon Buffalo keep staying in the group’s top 3 with statistics of 2:1.

Viewership statistics

Overall, the matches on the second day of Worlds 2022 generated more than 6.2M Hours Watched and gathered 725.3K Average Viewers. Peak Viewers mark reached during the match of Evil Geniuses vs. LOUD amounted to more than 1M viewers. The rest of the matches of the day gathered from 730K to 861K Peak Viewers.

Based on the results of these two days, Evil Geniuses retains the status of the most popular Play-In team, its matches attracting 897K Average Viewers. The top 5 by this indicator also features LOUD, Isurus, MAD Lions, and Fnatic. If we compare the viewership statistics of the second day with the first, a decrease in each indicator can be noticed. Peak Viewers decreased by 6%, Average Viewers decreased by 12.5%, and Hours Watched decreased by 37%.
