In the new article, Esports Charts will cover the most popular teams of the summer split (excluding Chinese platforms). The statistics encompassed data from all qualifier leagues for the Worlds 2021, except for the Vietnam Championship Series 2021. The most popular teams of the summer splits
T1, the winner of the LCK Regional Finals, received the most attention among the teams from the season’s top leagues, being watched by 379K Average Viewers. The team demonstrates similar results every year - which is largely due to the worldwide popularity of its representative Faker, who has fans both within and outside of Korea.
Following it is Fnatic of the European LEC, which scored a little less than 341.8K Average Viewers. The third and fourth spots were occupied by the participants of the same league: G2 (leading in views among European teams in the spring season) and MAD Lions — with 325.7K and 291.7K Average Viewers, respectively.
Aside from the teams from Europe and Korea, no other region has made it to the top 10 teams by Average Viewers. Additionally, even DWG KIA (the winner of the LCK 2021 summer split), was only ranked fifth.

In terms of Hours Watched, T1 was also ahead of all the other teams. The Korean team scored 25.8M hours in the summer split, while the runner-up (DWG KIA) scored 40% fewer hours: 15.4M.
Aside of T1 and DWG KIA, five more teams from LCK entered the top 10 based on Hours Watched: Gen.G (12.6M), Hanwha Life Esports (11.6M), Nongshim RedForce (11.4M), Afreeca Freecs (10.3M), and Liiv SANDBOX (10M). Other regions in this top 10 were represented exclusively by European teams: Fnatic (14M), G2 Esports (9.2M), and MAD Lions (8.8M).

The World Championship 2021 will be held in the LAN format in Iceland, where the Mid-Season Invitational 2021 took place before. In addition to the prize pool money ($2.2M), the participants of World Championship 2021 will receive a percentage of the sales of the skin for Jarvan IV, released specifically to commemorate the tournament. The first matches of the championship will be held on October 5.
