In the new material, Esports Charts will tell you about the results of summer splits and spectator activity at the competitions of the season. The calculations took into account data from all leagues, except for the Vietnam Championship Series 2021, which did not take place due to restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic.

Summer Splits Spectator Activity
The most popular league of the season was the Korean LCK, which attracted 1.3M Peak Viewers in the final between T1 and DWG KIA. Thus, it broke its previous record (1.07M PV), which was set during the LCK 2020 Spring, and became the most watched among all regional leagues (excluding viewers from Chinese platforms). You can read more about this in a separate article.
LCK is followed by LEC, which was watched by 843K concurrent viewers. The league also beat the LEC 2021 Spring in terms of Peak Viewers — there this figure was 831K.
In addition to LCK and LEC, PCS for teams from Southeast Asia excelled in the summer split. The league attracted 93.5K viewers at its peak during the grand final between PSG Talon and BYG, beating the previous record (29K people at the PCS 2020 Summer) by more than three times.

PCS also saw an increase in the average number of viewers. In the league for teams from Southeast Asia, this figure has doubled - from 9.6K people at the PCS 2020 summer split to a record 21.8K.
Despite the record in PV, LCK lost to LEC in terms of the average number of viewers. In the summer split, 208K people usually watched the matches of the Korean league, and 242K people watched the European ones. LCL (11.4K viewers) and LCO (3.7K viewers) showed the lowest performance among the leagues that are qualifying for the World Championship 2021.

The matches of the World Championship 2021 will be held in the LAN format in Iceland, where the Mid-Season Invitational 2021 took place. The participants of the championship will compete for a prize fund of $2.2M and a share of Jarvan IV skin sales, released specifically in honor of the event. The opening matches of the tournament are scheduled for October 5.
