BLAST Open Spring 2026 kicks off with 32% Average Viewers growth, peaking at NAVI vs B8
The BLAST Open Spring 2026 commenced yesterday with a series of high-stakes opening matches that generated significant immediate interest. Viewership metrics for the first day showed a marked increase compared to the opening of the previous event in the BLAST Open subseries. The schedule featured several intense encounters, most notably a contested series between Natus Vincere and B8, contributing to a strong start for the tournament’s broadcast reach.
The opening day offered a wide variety of competitive dynamics and match outcomes. Team Falcons demonstrated efficiency by securing a 2:0 victory over NRG, maintaining control throughout the series despite competing with a substitute player. Conversely, Natus Vincere faced a much more difficult path. The reigning ESL Pro League Season 23 champions eventually secured their win against B8, but the victory required a grueling performance to overcome their opponents' resistance.
The initial results have established the bracket for the remainder of Group A. FURIA is set to face Aurora in the winners' bracket, where they will be joined by Natus Vincere and Team Falcons. Meanwhile, the lower bracket moves into survival territory. TyLoo will compete against FaZe Clan, and B8 will meet NRG in elimination matches.
Viewership highlights & key matches of BLAST Open Spring 2026 Day 1

Audience engagement reached its highest point during the second map of the series between Natus Vincere and B8. The matchup on Ancient, which B8 won with a 19:17 scoreline, drew a peak of 327,738 concurrent viewers. This figure was recorded at the moment B8 secured the map and currently stands as the highest viewership peak of the tournament.
Other matchups also attracted considerable attention, though they fell short of the primary peak. The series between Aurora Gaming and FaZe Clan proved highly popular, reaching a peak viewership only 4.8% lower than the day's maximum. In contrast, the third most-watched match of the day, FURIA’s victory over TyLoo, saw a more significant drop in numbers, trailing the peak by nearly 100,000 viewers.

The opening day outperformed the start of the previous tournament in the series despite a viewership concentration in two primary matches. Average viewership grew by more than 32% compared to the prior event's debut. Peak metrics showed an even more significant rise of 55%.
The growth in overall metrics originated from increased participation among secondary Counter-Strike demographics. English-language viewership was lower than the opening day of the previous event. This decrease was offset by a significant influx of Russian-speaking, Brazilian, and Turkish viewers. The scheduling of teams with large regional fan bases contributed directly to these gains.
