BLAST Slam IV turned out to be the most-watched event in the series

Nov 11, 2025 3 min read

Last weekend, Singapore hosted BLAST Slam IV — the fourth Dota 2 championship in BLAST’s new tournament series. This time, the event ran nearly twice as long due to a format change, breaking records for total watch hours. However, viewership numbers noticeably declined. Esports Charts has summed up the key takeaways from the tournament.

BLAST Slam IV debuted a new format this season. The number of participating teams grew from 10 to 12, and for the first time, regional qualifiers were added alongside direct invites. The tournament structure also shifted — instead of two small groups, all teams competed in a single round-robin stage, with the top performers advancing to the Play-In and then to the Playoffs.

If there was one thing that stayed consistent, it was the finalists. Tundra Esports claimed their third BLAST Slam title, edging out Team Falcons 3:2 in a thrilling final. The series was incredibly tense, with the deciding map stretching close to an hour — much to the crowd’s delight.

Interestingly, Tundra Esports has reached the grand finals in all four BLAST Slam tournaments, winning three of them (their only loss coming in the debut event final against BetBoom Team). So far in 2025, the team has captured four international titles and earned a total of $1.3 million in prize money.

BLAST Slam IV viewership statistics

Overall, the BLAST Slam IV accumulated more than 6.81 million Hours Watched — the highest total in the series’ history. The previous record, set during BLAST Slam III, was 6.76 million HW, so the increase was relatively modest.

While peak viewership stayed nearly the same as last time, the average number of viewers per match dropped sharply. Compared to May’s Slam III, average viewership fell by 36%, down to 95.2K — the lowest figure across all BLAST Slam events.

It’s worth noting that one more event remains in the series this year — BLAST Slam V, which will take place in China from November 25 to December 7. You can follow the tournament’s results and viewership stats on the Esports Charts event page.
