BMPS 2024 became Battlegrounds Mobile India's most popular competitive event ever
The Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series 2024, held at the Adlux International Convention & Exhibition Centre in Kochi, India, concluded on September 29. It was a massive success, ending as the game's most popular event involving only competitive players and becoming the main official broadcast channel's top livestream by peak concurrent viewership.
This Battlegrounds Mobile India competition had two stages — League and Grand Finals. The first phase started with 128 teams, with the best 16 moving to the latter, which consisted of 18 rounds, as a total of $239,560 was on the line as prize money.

After around five weeks of intense action, it was Team XSpark who emerged as the BMPS 2024 champion, taking home almost $90,000 as cumulative earnings. The side accrued 158 points, which included four wins in the Grand Finals, the most by any participant in this phase.
It was a second A-Tier tournament win for Team XSpark, founded by popular player/streamer Sc0utOP, in its last three such outings. The side had also clinched the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2024 which was held in May and June at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad.

The Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series 2024 hit almost 494K Peak Viewers during the final round on Day 3 of the Grand Finals. This was when Reckoning Esports claimed its second Winner Winner Chicken Dinner, although it was Team XSpark who had the final laugh as it was confirmed as the champion.
This number was a record for BGMI, making it the game's most popular tournament ever involving only competitive players. There is one event that hit a higher PV figure, Launch Party BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA, the first one for the game to commemorate its launch back in 2021, but it involved pros and streamers.

Most watched and popular BGMI tournaments of all time
Interestingly, the other games on the five most popular matches list would have also made it among the battle royale shooter's most popular events ever table. Moreover, it notched 11.15M Hours Watched and 72.3 Average Viewers over 154 hours of airtime. The former was just the second time an event in the game has passed the 10M HW mark after the iQOO Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021.
All this ensured that the official channel on YouTube, KRAFTON INDIA ESPORTS, saw a 55% jump in its most popular live stream ever after touching 474.5K PV. The September 29 broadcast in Hindi also ended as its most-watched one of all time, becoming the first to cross 1M HW.

When looking at the three editions of this Battlegrounds Mobile India series, the audience reach has improved in 2024 after a lull last year. Kick getting added to the mix as a broadcasting platform may have swayed numbers negligibly, but it has been accompanied by the number of co-casting channels increasing by over three times, providing the BMPS with more exposure.
Skyesports coming in as an organizer has also played its part, as the company remains perhaps the biggest when it comes to hosting esports events in India. These factors, combined with the game now being free from the shackles of any looming ban threats, have seemingly ensured that the game's esports scene is once again thriving, so it remains to be seen how things go heading into the new year.
