Free Fire World Series Global Finals 2025 is series' most popular event in three years
One of the biggest mobile tournaments on the annual esports calendar, the Free Fire World Series - Global Finals 2025, concluded on November 15. It marked the first world title for Buriram United Esports, which played a big part in it finishing as the series' most popular event in three years.
This coveted Free Fire tournament brought together the world's 18 best teams as they battled for a $1 million prize pool. Moreover, the Grand Finals were held at the Indonesia Arena in Jakarta, adding an electric atmosphere to the proceedings.

Having faced heartbreak in the last two editions with second and third-place finishes, the third time was the charm for Buriram United Esports, who emerged triumphant with 103 points in the finals. Just reward for one of the game's most consistent and followed teams on the global stage, it also put Thailand above Brazil for the most Free Fire World Series trophies claimed.
It was not an easy win, though, as the reigning two-time world champion roster of Fluxo refused to go down without a fight. In the end, the Thai side kept its composure to clinch the victory in the final round and eke out the title win by a point.
Fluxo had more wins in the Grand Finals, but Buriram United Esports' higher consistency helped it clinch its maiden Free Fire world title. This was also the second global crown across titles for the esports organization, owned by the highly successful Thai football club of the same name.
Free Fire World Series - Global Finals 2025 viewership statistics

The Free Fire World Series - Global Finals 2025 reached 775,141 Peak Viewers (PV) during the seventh round of the Grand Final. It was the last game of a closely-contested phase where Fluxo finished fifth to effectively hand over its crown to Buriram United Esports even before the latter won the round.

Among all the FFWS competitions held so far, the 2025 world championship ended as the fourth most popular one. It was also the event with the highest peak concurrent viewership since the Free Fire World Series 2022 Sentosa, continuing the series' rehabilitation post the 2023 edition.
The Global Finals 2025 also finished among the Free Fire World Series' five most-watched events. The 8 million Hours Watched (HW) it accrued put it in the fifth spot, with four of these top five entries coming over the last two years.

A big reason for these recent gains has been the reintegration of South Asian teams into the Free Fire esports ecosystem. The game remains hugely popular in India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh, whose fans are known to be among the loudest and most passionate.
The participation of two Bangladeshi sides, Red Hawks and Red Cliff, was especially vital to the viewership success of the FFWS Global Finals 2025. Even though the two teams finished among the bottom three in the Knockout Stage, fans who speak Bengali (a major language in India and Bangladesh) continued to watch the competition till the end.
As a result, Bengali ended among the event's top two languages by HW and PV, a contribution that was lacking in last year's edition, as there was no South Asian side participating. Moreover, Hindi, spoken widely in all four nations mentioned above, also enjoyed gains, including an almost 86% jump in its peak live viewership compared to the 2024 iteration.
Another positive was the continued growth of TikTok esports broadcasting, especially in the Southeast Asian region. The 252,725 PV it reached was a new Free Fire esports record, beating the mark that the video-sharing app set at the Esports World Cup 2024 by almost 31.5%.

For the first time, there was also a separate competition for the Clash Squad mode held this year, and that too was won by a Thai team. All Gamers Global became the inaugural winners of this format, which sees players from the top eight sides from the Battle Royale - Knockout Week 1 battle in 4v4 matches.
The Free Fire World Series - Global Finals 2025: Clash Squad enjoyed a decent start in terms of livestreaming. It reached 223,067 PV and just over 2 million HW over around 21 hours of airtime, with Fluxo finishing as the runner-up here as well.

Most-watched and popular Free Fire competitions in 2025
This was more than enough to put it among the year's top eight Free Fire competitions (not including influencer-led events and showmatches) by watch time and peak live viewers. It also helped extend Thailand's lead atop the list of countries with the most world titles won in this mobile shooter from Garena.
What else happened during the Free Fire World Series - Global Finals 2025
Away from the competitive action, Garena had some news for Free Fire fans across the world. During the closing ceremony, the game was officially presented with the Guinness World Records title for the "Largest Mobile Team-Based Esports Tournament".

This was because the 2025 FFWS season saw 618,778 players participate in official tournaments worldwide. It encompassed local qualifiers across Southeast Asia, South Asia, Latin America, Brazil and the Middle East and Africa (MENA), and the main regional leagues across the globe.
Another big update was the trailer reveal of the upcoming collaboration with the hit anime Jujutsu Kaisen. It will begin in January 2026, when the much-hyped third season of the anime will be released globally, which will undoubtedly bring a lot of eyeballs to the battle royale offering, especially from yet-untapped markets like Japan and South Korea.
It's been another solid season for Free Fire, rounded off by another successful world championship. The game's biggest prize has also found its way back to SEA, and there will be more wars waged in 2026 as Brazil and Fluxo do everything in their power to bring the trophy back to the South American powerhouse.
