On April 2, the LCK regional spring season ended at LoL PARK stadium in Seoul, South Korea, where the top ten teams in the region competed for a 375 million KRW prize pool (roughly $308.5K). In a new Esports Charts article, we will tell you about T1's triumphant performance, a new viewership record, and other interesting league's statistics.

LCK Spring 2022 Results

South Korea is one of the most popular League of Legends regions, as local teams often rank in the top of international competitions and play at the highest level. At the beginning of the group stage, T1 and Gen.G said they intended to win LCK Spring 2022. For a few weeks the teams kept up with each other in points, but soon T1 took the lead.

Both squads advanced straight to the semifinals, defeated their opponents, and faced each other in the Grand final. T1 won 3-1 and became LCK Spring 2022 champion without a single loss in the entire tournament. The team won $164.5K and a slot in Mid-Season Invitational 2022.

The previous year's LCK Spring 2021 and LCK Summer 2021 champion, DAMWON Gaming, made it to the playoffs, but lost 2-3 to Gen.G in a tough match.

LCK Spring 2022 Viewership Statistics

LCK Spring 2022 ran from January 12 to April 2 and was on air for over 300 hours. During that time, the tournament accumulated more than 74.2 million Hours Watched and drew 247K Average Viewers.

The championship could be followed on Twitch, YouTube, Afreeca TV and Facebook, and the most popular languages of broadcasts were Korean, English and Vietnamese. We should clarify that LCK was officially broadcast only on Twitch, just as in the previous year, as part of the exclusive agreement.

The Grand final between T1 and Gen.G was the most popular LCK Spring 2022 match, drawing more than 1.37 million Peak Viewers. It should be noted that DAMWON Gaming's semifinal against Gen.G ranked only fourth by this metric, behind the two meetings of T1 and DAMWON Gaming in the group stage.

T1 proved to be the most popular team in the league as usual. The team's matches amassed 27.5 million Hours Watched (37% of the tournament's total), and the Average Viewers number was 438.7K spectators.
