LCK Spring 2023 became the most popular tournament in league history
The spring seasons of the regional leagues of League of Legends are coming to an end, and today the champion of LCK Spring 2023 has become known. In the final of the championship, T1, which had a dominant season, met their now iconic rivals from the Gen.G. The final was hyped a lot, which resulted in a record league audience on streaming platforms.
According to the pre-match handouts, T1 was by far the favorite: not only did she finish the regular season with the best statistics, but she also beat Gen.G three times in a split. But in the decisive match, she failed to prevail: the series ended with a score of 1:3, and 17-year-old Gen.G botlaner Kim Peyz Su-hwan was named the MVP of the game.

Top-5 LCK Events by Peak Viewers
The main achievement of the tournament in terms of spectator statistics was the huge audience during the final. At its peak, more than 1.46 million people were concurrently watching the battle of T1 and Gen.G. Thus, the tournament set a new league record by the metric. One can also note that the Korean event gathers over a million viewers on streaming services at peak for the second year in a row.
Previously, the league's most popular tournament was last year's spring split (which also featured T1 and Gen.G in the final), which was watched by up to 1.37 million viewers at the same time.
At the moment, LCK Spring is one of the three most popular tournaments in 2023. Only two Mobile Legends: Bang Bang competitions have collected more than the Korean league. The first two spots are occupied by the January M4 World Championship and MPL Indonesia Season 11, which also ends on April 9th.
