Gaming gear is the most important equipment for any pro esports player. The speed of each key press and the accuracy of every click can decide the outcome of high-stakes matches. Right now, StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 — one of the biggest Counter-Strike tournaments of the year — is underway in Hungary.

The gaming gear breakdown at StarLadder Budapest Major 2025

More than half of all players at the tournament use Logitech mice, giving the brand a 51% share. The most popular choices are the Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT and the newer SUPERLIGHT 2, both in multiple color options. ZOWIE ranks second, with about 25.5% of Major participants using its mice. The ZOWIE EC2 and its different variants were the most common models from the brand.

Logitech also takes the lead in the keyboard category, although its advantage isn’t as strong here, with a 32.6% share. The most widely used Logitech model is the Logitech G PRO and its different variants. HyperX and Razer follow in second and third place, each holding 14.6%. Their top models among players are the Razer Huntsman V3 (Pro / Mini) and the HyperX Alloy FPS (PRO / RGB), respectively.

HyperX clearly dominates the headset category. About 47.1% of Budapest Major players use HyperX headsets. The most popular choice is the HyperX Cloud II, along with its Alpha, Core, MIX, Orbit, and Revolver variants. Logitech comes in second with a 25.7% share, mainly thanks to the Logitech G PRO X, which appears in several color options.

SteelSeries and ZOWIE lead the mousepad category with 25.4% and 23.2% of players using their products. The top choices at the tournament are the SteelSeries QcK Heavy and the ZOWIE G-SR.

Monitors are a bit more complicated: players can list any model as their favorite, but during tournaments, they have to use whatever monitors the organizers provide. The most popular monitor among StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 participants is the ZOWIE XL2546. At the event in Hungary, the organizers are using ZOWIE monitors as well, specifically the XL2586+ model. Here, players’ preferences and the organizers’ options happen to align perfectly.

Overall, we gathered data on 715 devices used by players at the tournament, representing about 40 different brands. The most popular brand is ZOWIE, largely due to its monitors. Logitech, which leads in the mouse and keyboard categories, ranks second in total devices used.

The most popular device among Major participants is the HyperX Cloud II headset, used by one in every four players. Rounding out the top three are the Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT gaming mouse and the SteelSeries QcK Heavy mousepad.

The StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 kicked off on November 24 and will run through December 14. Thirty-two of the world’s top teams are competing for a $1.25 million prize pool.
