Most popular esports channels on Twitch in 2022
Esports Charts continues to recap the year. In our new article, we have compiled the top most popular esports channels on Twitch based on two metrics: Hours Watched and Peak Viewers. In 2022, esports fans watched CS:GO and League of Legends events the most, and several top channels have set new records for concurrent viewership.
Esports Charts presents ratings of the most watched (by overall watch time) and most popular (by peak concurrent viewership) Twitch esports channels over 2022.
Top 10 Channels by Total Hours Watched

The Brazilian streamer Gaules tops the ranking with 103.7 million Hours Watched. He actively streamed almost all of the major CS:GO tournaments throughout the year, so his final result was 27% more than that of his closest challenger.
The English-language ESL_CS:GO channel is in second place. It had more than 81.5 million Hours Watched in 2022. This channel has one of the highest results of Average Viewers in our ranking — 72.4K viewers.
LCK_Korea, which broadcasts the same league in League of Legends and international competitions in the discipline, rounds out the Top 3 of the ranking. The channel accumulated 63.7 million HW over the year.
The official Riot Games channel had over 55.4 million HW in 2022, which helped it get fourth place in our Top 10. The main content of the channel is League of Legends World Championship broadcasts.
The French-language channel otplol_ is in fifth position in our Top with 48.4 million HW. This channel broadcast LFL and European Masters matches as well as Worlds and Mid-Season Invitational international tournaments in League of Legends throughout the year.
The official Valorant channel accumulated 45.3 million HW and saw the highest Followers Gain among the channels in the ranking, with a year-to-date total of 1.3 million followers. Csgo_mc (32.5 million HW), the only Russian-language channel in the ranking, is also in the Top 10.
Top 10 Channels by Peak Viewers

The official Riot Games channel ranks at the top of the list by Peak Viewers. Over 990K PV watched the 2022 League of Legends World Championship Grand Final between T1 and DRX. This is the sixth highest result of any channel on Twitch, including non-esports channels.
The Brazilian streamer Gaules is in second place in the ranking with 707.6K Peak Viewers — the best result in the history of his channel. That is the number of people who watched the broadcast of the Imperial Esports vs. Cloud9 match at PGL Major Antwerp. It should be noted that the hosts by mch_AGG, TNTSportsBr and s1mple also contributed to the record setting.
The channel LCK_Korea takes third place in the Top with a record-breaking 692K Peak Viewers. The channel reached this number at the Worlds Finals.
The English-language channel PGL is in fourth place, with 640K Peak Viewers reached during the PGL Major Antwerp Grand Final. By the way, this was just a little short to set a new record for the channel, which had been held since July 2017 (668K PV).
