MPL BR Season 1 was held from August 14 to October 17. Eight teams became members of the league: six of them were invited by the organizers, and two more received places through open qualifiers. Among the popular teams, Vivo Keyd, Imperial and the esports team from the Santos football club got to the tournament. Otherwise, the format of the tournament did not differ from other MPL regions — there were the main stage and the playoffs.
Viewers statistics of MPL BR S1

Broadcasts of the first season of MPL BR were held on YouTube, Facebook, NimoTV, Twitch, TikTok and Booyah. YouTube attracted the largest number of viewers, as it is the most popular platform for mobile gaming, as well as the main streaming platform in Brazil as a whole.
The majority of the audience of the tournament were Brazilians, i.e. Portuguese-speaking viewers (70.5%), English-speaking fans accounted for a smaller part (29.5%). The competition was broadcast for 85 hours and during this time it got 339K Hours Watched. The most popular match was the fight between Red Canids and Vivo Keyd in the grand final — 19.1K viewers.

We compared the first season in Brazil with other regions to objectively assess the launch results. Among the new regions, Cambodia was more successful than Brazil, it got 3 times more viewers at its peak (66.1K vs 19.1K people), and 4.5 times more average viewers.
Comparing Brazil to Singapore, the region lacked only 1,000 viewers to get ahead. At the same time, the second season of the Singapore league collected half as many HW as Brazil, although it was on the air for 8 hours longer. This is due to the fact that the Brazilian league was watched by more viewers on average.
We will be able to fully evaluate the results of Brazil after several seasons in the region. Then it will be completely clear whether Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has been able to attract a new audience.
