The finalists of the regional MPL leagues in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines, as well as the winners of the regional qualifiers that were held in Thailand and Myanmar became the participants of the MLBB Southeast Asia Cup. The tournament was hosted in Malaysia for the first time, and the venue was the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Center, which is located in the capital of the country, Kuala Lumpur. The prize pool amounted to $300,000.

The champions of Indonesia (RRQ) and the Philippines (RSG PH) met in the final of the event. Finals MVP was gold laner of RSG PH Eman "EMANN" Sangco.
The championship aroused unprecedented interest among the audience. Thanks to a huge fan base from Indonesia, the event managed not only to set a new series record by concurrent viewers but also to become one of the five most popular championships in MLBB history.
