The International 2022 Qualifiers — China and North America results
At the beginning of the week, the qualifiers for The International 2022 in China and North America came to an end. In a new article, Esports Charts will tell you about the results and viewership statistics of these qualifiers.
TI 2022 China Qualifier
Thirteen teams from Dota Pro Circuit 2021/2022 First and Second Divisions participated in Chinese qualifiers. Royal Never Give Up proved to be the strongest team in the qualifiers and made it to the main stage of The International 2022, defeating Xtreme Gaming (3:0) in the Grand Final. Vici Gaming became the bronze medalist in the qualifiers. Thus, China will be represented by Xtreme and VG in Last Chance Qualifier, which will be held from October 8 to 12. We should mention that Invictus Gaming, the team that took fourth place in TI10, won’t play in the main Dota 2 tournament this year.

TI11 Chinese qualifiers broadcasts amassed more than 2.6 million Hours Watched and drew 52.4K Average Viewers. The Peak Viewers number of the qualifiers was 138.6K people reached at the Grand Final between RNG and Xtreme. It should be noted that these two teams are two most popular teams in the qualifiers. The Xtreme games drew 75K Average Viewers, while the RNG games were watched by 5K fewer Average Viewers.

Chinese qualifiers for The International 2022 turned out to be more successful than previous years' qualifiers. Compared with the 2021 qualifiers, the HW number of this tournament increased by 45%, the AV number increased by 23%, but the PV number decreased slightly by about 6%. At the same time, the 2019 qualifiers had lower numbers in all metrics.
TI 2022 North America Qualifier
North American qualifiers came to an end after Chinese qualifiers. It featured 12 teams, half of which played in the First Division during the season. Soniqs defeated nouns (3:0) in the Grand Final and earned a slot in the main stage of The International 2022. In the upper bracket final, this team also defeated Wildcard Gaming, which now will compete with nouns in Last Chance Qualifier.

North America qualifiers accumulated 1.5 million HW and attracted slightly fewer than 29.8K Average Viewers. The most popular match of the qualifiers is the lower bracket final between WG and Sonics, which was watched by 81.2K Peak Viewers. The similar metric of the Grand Final was 74.3K. Soniqs became the leader of the event both by HW and AV. Its games accounted for almost 40% of the tournament's total HW, and were watched by 42K AV.

Compared with previous years' qualifiers for The International, almost all of the TI 2022 North America Qualifier metrics fell short. The current event is behind in both HW and AV statistics. However, the PV number of this years' qualifiers is 17.5% higher than it was in 2021, but about as much lower than it was in 2019.

Among the TI11 qualifiers that have already ended, the Eastern European one leads strongly in both HW and PV. But the September 13 qualifiers in Southeast Asia and Western Europe have already come close to matching the Peak Viewers number of Eastern Europe Qualifier. At the time of publication, Western Europe is outpacing Eastern Europe in terms of AV by 23%.
