How TikTok Live started fighting YouTube Live for the dominant spot in MLBB esports

TikTok Live has become a rapidly growing force in esports broadcasting. At the recent MLBB Mid Season Cup 2025, a premiere mid-season event for the mobile gaming calendar, TikTok Live was often matching the event’s YouTube Live viewership, highlighting how fast it has grown in recent years.

Traditionally, especially for mobile gaming events, YouTube Live has remained the prime broadcasting platform. The no-fuss broadcast appeals to many across the globe, with particularly strong esports viewership footholds in Asia making up the backbone of lots of mobile gaming tournaments. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is the most popular mobile title in the world, and in recent years, TikTok Live has been growing strong enough to compete for the top spot.
