BLAST.tv Austin Major: HEROIC becomes first team to hit 1 million Hours Watched
The BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 is just getting started, but after only two days, HEROIC has become the first team to surpass 1 million Hours Watched (HW) of live match content. The team, now qualified for the next stage, also ranks among the top performers in Stage 1 by average concurrent viewership.
Although HEROIC leads the tournament by watch time after two days, their position is largely driven by longer matches and favorable pairings with more popular opponents. In terms of average concurrent viewership (ACV), they came in second, 6% behind the top team. That top spot belongs to the only team so far to average over 200,000 concurrent viewers per match. Still, despite leading in ACV, that team trails HEROIC in total Hours Watched by 11%.
For those seeking real-time insights into esports team viewership, the Esports Charts Teams Dashboard offers a comprehensive solution. So far, audience differences between most teams remain relatively modest, a clearer picture will likely emerge in the next stages, once the top-tier contenders enter the tournament. A few early insights stand out:
-
The gap between the most and least popular teams sits at around 80,000 concurrent viewers.
-
Brazil’s top team pulled in 55% more average viewers than the country's least followed team.
-
Just over half the teams have averaged more than 150,000 concurrent viewers across their matches so far.
After two days of competition, the first two teams have punched their ticket to Stage 2, while two others have been eliminated. Among those advancing is Ukrainian squad B8, which reached new personal best in audience numbers.
Overall, as expected, Day Two saw a slight dip in overall viewership, a common trend for events of this scale. Even so, the BLAST.tv Austin Major is still outperforming the Shanghai Major, though it remains well behind last year’s Copenhagen Major. Stay tuned and follow the event’s viewership stats with us!
