The iQOO Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 is the largest ever Battlegrounds Mobile tournament in India by prize pool. The event was supported by Tesseract Esports, a major mobile event organizer. In a new article, Esports Charts will tell you the results of the event and who will represent the region in the PUBG Mobile Global Championship.

PUBG Mobile was banned by the Indian government in September 2020 along with other Chinese apps. Many fans moved on to other Battle Royals, so KRAFTON, the creators of PUBG Mobile, had to find a way to keep their audience. Battlegrounds Mobile, which was released in May 2021 exclusively in India, became the solution.

The iQOO Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 took place from December 2, 2021 to January 16, 2022. A total of 1024 teams competed in the online qualification for the tournament, and only 16 teams made it to the playoffs stage. The prize pool was $134,000 and a slot for PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2021: Grand Finals.

iQOO Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 viewership stats

The tournament accumulated 15.2 million Hours Watched, mainly due to its duration. The streams themselves were on two platforms: YouTube and Facebook, with the former having a large advantage in terms of viewers. The final match was watched by 460K Peak Viewers. This number shows how much the PUBG Mobile events have dropped in audience without the Indian region.

The winner of the tournament is Skylightz Gaming, but the team will not attend the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2021: Grand Finals due to coronavirus restrictions. The championship will be held in Dubai, so all participants in the tournament must be vaccinated and have a valid foreign passport. Neither Skylightz Gaming nor TSM with Team XO could meet the requirements. That is why GodLike Esports, which took fourth place in the tournament, will represent India in the PMGC.

PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2021: Grand Finals will be held from January 21 to 23, and the prize pool there is a record for the discipline — three million dollars! A total of 16 teams will compete in the tournament, but Stalwart Esports and teams from the West Division (apart from Alpha7) will play from Singapore. The Brazilians from Alpha7 and GodLike Esports from India will go to Dubai and play from there. The other teams will play remotely.

The iQOO Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 became the second most popular game tournament by Peak Viewers. It didn't manage to overtake the Launch Party, which was held as a celebration of the regional launch of the game (the event was watched by 547K Peak Viewers).
