Delta Force Invitational 2025: Q9 victory & major game announcements

Sep 25, 2025 4 min read

The Delta Force Invitational 2025, the flagship Delta Force tournament, took place last weekend at Hangzhou E-sports Center. Touted as the tactical shooter’s world championship, it featured teams from across the globe and wrapped up with the developer revealing ambitious plans for its next season and the year ahead. Here’s how it all unfolded; from viewership data to big announcements.

The Delta Force Invitational final was the highlight of a major gaming event leading up to the title’s first anniversary. Over the weekend, publishers and developers met with content creators,, and showcased their progress in tackling cheaters. Before the announcements drew plenty of attention, the spotlight belonged to the competition itself.

The tournament proved packed with action and delivered its share of surprises. Several preview favorites failed to advance for the final day, making room for unexpected contenders, including Thailand’s Moogrob Gang, the APAC qualifier champion that many had initially written off as an underdog.

In the end, it was Q9 who emerged as the tournament’s champion. Along the way, they toppled ESG, widely seen as the frontrunner after winning the Delta Force Operations Cup 2025 just weeks earlier. This time, though, Q9 claimed the crown, led by their star player Mo, who earned the FMVP honor.

When it comes to viewership, the title’s strongest following is on livestreaming platforms in mainland China, figures we unfortunately can’t include in our reporting. Even so, the tournament drew respectable audiences abroad, peaking at over 23,000 live viewers during the decisive final round.

The game’s coverage spanned both official studio broadcasts and community streams. Altogether, several dozen channels across seven platforms brought the action to fans, from major players like Twitch and YouTube to regional services such as SOOP Korea.

The official channels dominated in overall reach, but one community caster stood out: kr1stw, a popular streamer known for his variety and tactical shooter content, who peaked at over 4K live viewers, more than any other channel.

With the tournament’s top streams and audience numbers covered, attention now turns to the announcements following the grand final. As the game gears up for its anniversary, developers unveiled the new season, War Ablaze, promising players fresh maps, vehicles, mini-modes, weapons, and a new Operator, on top of console improvements like 120 FPS, control tuning, audio fix and more. The update went live on September 23.

The announcements didn’t stop with War Ablaze. After revealing the new season, developers also shared a look at their plans for the game’s Year-2 journey, outlining next-gen visuals brought by Unreal Engine 5, full-scene destruction, new content coming to Operations, and several other upcoming features.

More plans regarding esports were also announced subsequently. The inaugural DFI Warfare will be hosted in Vietnam this December, bringing together elite Operators from across the globe to battle for the ultimate prize, and the qualifiers will kick off in October. By launching more international tournaments, developers demonstrate their commitment to increasing investment in the global Delta Force esports scene.

The Delta Force Invitational not only delivered an exciting finale and solid viewership but also set the stage for a more structured and advanced esports ecosystem around the game. The updates announced during and after the event, from the War Ablaze season to next‑year’s ambitious features, reflect a careful yet productive approach by the developers, giving reason to hope that the competitive scene will continue to grow in parallel with the game itself.
