Free Fire World Series 2022 Bangkok — Everything you need to know

Free Fire World Series 2022 Bangkok — Everything you need to know

Sep 20, 2022 3 min read

The second Free Fire World Series event of 2022 has been announced, and just like the first event of the year, it will take also take place in Asia. The last two winners of the event are from Thailand, so the country finally had an opportunity to host the event. The event will have a $2 million prize pool, just like the first edition of the year did.

This event will bring together the eighteen best squads in the world that come from ten different leagues. The leagues will take place in the next month and a half. Some squads will go to the play-ins stage, while others will qualify directly to the finals.

Ten teams will enter the play-ins, where they will play six matches, with the top four advancing to the finals. In the finals, twelve squads will play in six matches, and at the end, the team with the most points will be crowned world champions, and receive $500K in prize money.

Thai team Attack All Around will be defending their world championship in front of their home crowd. But have a very difficult task ahead of them, because the event is full of great teams, that have their eyes set on the prize. We still don't know the arena where the event will be held, but we know it will take place in the city of Bangkok, and it will be an offline event.

Top-5 most popular Free Fire events

Free Fire World Series is always one of the biggest events of the year. The event has been able to achieve some spectacular viewership numbers in the past, and we expect this trend to continue. When it comes to the most popular Free Fire events of all time, the three Free Fire World Series events are in the top five list.

Last year’s event peaked at 5.4 million Peak Viewers, and became the most popular Free Fire event of all time. However, since then the game has been banned in India, which has affected the viewership numbers of the Free Fire World Series in a big way. The viewership numbers of the next Free Fire World Series saw a big drop, going from 5.4 million Peak Viewers to just 1.47 million Peak Viewers. This demonstrates how big the Free Fire community was in India, and the impact it had on the viewership department.

With past editions of the event having great viewership numbers, it's intriguing to see how good the upcoming event will fair in this regard. If it follows the footsteps of the first Free Fire World Series event of the year, it's very possible we will see a change in the list of the top five most popular Free Fire events ever. Despite that, it will be very hard for the tournament to reach the viewership numbers reached in 2021.
