Esports Charts is continuing its monthly series for PRO subscribers, spotlighting the most-watched and most popular esports events from the past month. This edition puts the focus on Twitch, which, despite rising competition, still stands as the go-to platform for esports coverage.

June saw several big tournaments, from the Austin Major (Counter-Strike) to the EMEA Masters Spring (League of Legends). In general, Twitch audiences continue to favor traditional PC titles, while YouTube remains the top choice for streaming mobile esports.

The most watched esports tournaments in June 2025

The BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 was the most-watched tournament on Twitch in June. Counter-Strike fans racked up over 49 million Hours Watched (HW) on Amazon’s platform, accounting for roughly 64.4% of the event’s total viewership across all streaming services. Interestingly, the most-watched match on Twitch wasn’t the grand final, but the quarterfinal clash between MOUZ and Team Spirit. The championship showdown between The MongolZ and Team Vitality came in second.

VALORANT Masters Toronto claimed the second spot in June’s viewership rankings. Notably, the tournament ran almost in parallel with the Austin Major, offering a clear side-by-side comparison of the two titles’ popularity. Masters Toronto brought in just 18.2 million HW on Twitch, just over half of the event’s total viewership. Unsurprisingly, the grand final between Paper Rex and Fnatic was the most-watched match on Twitch, with the Southeast Asian squad delivering a dominant win. Both teams also ranked among the tournament’s top-viewed participants on the platform.

PGL Wallachia Season 5 secured a top-three spot with 9.4 million HW on Twitch. When it comes to Dota 2, the purple platform continues to dominate tournament coverage. BetBoom Team emerged as the most-watched team of the event, with their grand final matchup against Gaimin Gladiators drawing the highest viewership on Twitch.

The Mid-Season Invitational 2025 got underway in Vancouver at the end of June, quickly capturing the attention of League of Legends fans. The Play-In Stage featured matchups with teams like G2 Esports and Bilibili Gaming, drawing strong interest on Twitch. Viewers generated over 6.5 million HW during this phase alone — a number that’s expected to rise dramatically in July when the main playoff stage begins.

Another major highlight for League of Legends fans in June was the EMEA Masters 2025 Spring. The tournament racked up over 5.2 million total HW, with nearly 4.8 million HW coming from Twitch alone. Interestingly, out of all the events in June’s rankings, EMEA Masters 2025 Spring showed the clearest dominance of Twitch over other platforms, even though the League of Legends fanbase is typically very active across multiple streaming services.

The BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 topped the charts as June’s most popular esports tournament. The grand final between Team Vitality and The MongolZ drew a peak concurrent audience of over 1.14 million live viewers on Twitch, meanwhile, the same match’s peak on YouTube was nearly half that size.

VALORANT Masters Toronto 2025 claimed the second spot, drawing a peak Twitch audience of over 537,400 viewers during the grand final between Paper Rex and Fnatic. Notably, the peak viewership on Twitch was almost exactly the same as on YouTube this time around.

Over 441,000 viewers tuned in to watch the Mid-Season Invitational 2025 on Twitch. The most popular match on the platform in June was the first-round Play-In Stage showdown between G2 Esports and FURIA Esports, where G2 clinched a hard-fought 3:2 victory.

The LEC Spring 2025 peaked at over 437,700 viewers on Twitch in June. This peak came during the Lower Bracket Final series between Karmine Corp and KOI, where KOI edged out a 3:2 victory. The next day, KOI went on to defeat G2 Esports and claim the season championship. Both KOI and G2 Esports not only secured their spots at MSI 2025, but also qualified to compete in the Esports World Cup 2025, which is set to take place this summer in Riyadh.

Rounding out June’s top five most popular tournaments on Twitch, LCK Road to MSI 2025 peaked at 369,300 viewers. The decisive match between T1 and Hanwha Life — where the final MSI spot was on the line — drew this audience. Fans of T1 had plenty to cheer for as their team delivered a dominant 3:0 win to secure their place at MSI. Interestingly, the same match attracted nearly three times as many viewers on YouTube.
