Most popular tournaments of April 2023
Esports Charts sums up the results of April 2023. Indonesian fans of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang showed the most activity last month, while English-speaking fans preferred more traditional esports disciplines, such as League of Legends, CS:GO, Valorant and Call of Duty.

MPL Indonesia Season 11 (Mobile Legends: Bang Bang) became the most popular tournament of April. The match between RRQ and EVOS.LGN attracted more than 1.88 million Peak Viewers. It should be recalled that MPL Indonesia Season 11 ranked second in a similar ranking at the end of March, second only to VCT 2023: LOCK//IN Sao Paulo.
LCK Spring 2023 ranked second in the monthly rankings. The season’s final between T1 and Gen.G was watched by 1.46 million Peak Viewers, that is the best result of any LCK season. Overall, the Korean LoL league renews its viewership records almost every year, and the confrontation between T1 and Gen.G has long been a major derby in the region. In four of the five most popular LCK seasons, it was the series between these teams that drew the most viewers.
In third place, with a large gap from the leaders, is the European LEC Spring 2023 League of Legends league. The Grand Final between MAD Lions and Team BDS had 572.3K Peak Viewers. A great contribution to this result was made by the community casting and Spanish streamer ibai in particular. He mostly covered KOI matches (which he co-owns) but also dedicated some time to the decisive match of the season, adding several tens of thousands of viewers to the total number.
IEM Rio 2023 was close to being in the Top 3 of the ranking — the Brazilian CS:GO tournament was watched by 562.2K PV. As a result, IEM Rio 2023 became the second most popular tournament in the discipline in 2023 so far.
VCT 2023: Americas League closes the Top 5 of the ranking with 504.2K PV. The most popular Valorant affiliate league achieved this result thanks mostly to the community casting of Tarik, the most popular streamer in the discipline.

If we consider only English-language viewers, MPL Indonesia Season 11 will be missing from the ranking of the most popular tournaments — the event has much more viewers among local fans, who prefer broadcasts in Indonesian.
The LCK Spring 2023 is the leader among English-speaking fans of esports. South Korea's league is considered the strongest in the League of Legends discipline, so its matches are watched all over the world. As for peak viewers, it has surpassed even the LEC and the LCS, where English is the major language.
IEM Rio 2023, the LEC Spring 2023, and VCT 2023: Americas League retain their places in the Top Five. They all drew very close Peak Viewers numbers but fell far short of the leader.
The Call of Duty League 2023: Stage 4 Major is in fifth place with 273K PV. That was the number of people watching the Los Angeles Thieves vs. OpTic Texas match in the Grand Finals of the Major. We should remind you that at the beginning of the year, Call of Duty League matches began to be streamed on Twitch again, allowing top community casters to join the league's coverage. The most popular independent streamer is Scump — a former OpTic member and one of the most successful e-athletes in the discipline.

The Top of the most popular esports channels almost completely matches the Top of the tournaments. First place goes to the LCK channel, which broadcasts matches of the Korean franchise League League of Legends league.
Second place goes to Gaules, a popular Brazilian CS:GO streamer. During the IEM Rio 2023, the Peak Viewers number on the broadcast was 222.2K. It is interesting that it was recorded not at the Grand Final, but at the quarterfinals between Heroic and FURIA Esports.
Third place goes to the LEC, the English-language broadcast channel of the European League of Legends franchise. At the Grand Final of the spring season, it was watched by 210.3K PV.
The English-language channel ESL_CSGO is in fourth place in the ranking with 176.7K PV. The Grand Final of IEM Rio 2023 between Heroic and Team Vitality had the same number of viewers.
The Scump channel is in fifth place in the month's results. The former e-athlete and popular Call of Duty community caster covered the Stage 4 Major matches and drew 137.5K PV at the Grand Final broadcast.
