Most popular tournaments in March 2022
MOBA tournaments once again proved to be one of the most popular events of the month. In March, the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and League of Legends competitions were especially popular with viewers, while among mobile games one of the Free Fire leagues also drew an extremely large audience. Esports Charts sums up the first month of spring in 2022.

MPL ID Season 9 became the most popular tournament in March. In the Indonesian ML:BB league, the group stage ends this week, and four teams are competing for playoff spots. One of those teams is EVOS Legends: its March match against RRQ Hoshi drew over 1.7 million Peak Viewers — a record of the month in esports.
The second most popular tournament of the month is LCK Spring 2022. The league finals were held in early April, so the most popular game of the tournament in March was the semifinal between DWG KIA and Gen.G: more than 736K Peak Viewers watched the strenuous match, which was won by Gen.G.
The European League of Legends league rounds out the top-3. By the end of March, LEC Spring 2022 launched playoffs, and the most popular match of the month was a classic clash between Fnatic and G2 Esports, which accumulated 473K Peak Viewers. It should be noted that these teams will compete for a slot in the final of the league: G2 Esports will try to take revenge on April 9.
Free Fire League Latinoamerica 2022 Opening also finished at the end of March, where the best teams from Mexico, Argentina and other Latin American countries clashed. The decisive matches and the triumph of Mineros eSports were followed by 461K Peak Viewers.
One more Mobile Legends: Bang Bang league — MPL PH Season 9 — closes the top of esports events. As in Indonesia, the EVOS match was also popular with viewers in the Philippines: the team's game against Omega Esports attracted 455K Peak Viewers.

English-speaking esports fans have little interest in mobile games, and only PC games made it to the top by language. LEC Spring 2022 ranks first, with the already mentioned match between Fnatic and G2 Esports attracting 311K Peak Viewers on English-speaking streams.
VCT 2022 NA Stage 1 Challengers was also popular with English-speaking viewers. It should be noted that the match between Sentinels and Version1 in the first round of the lower bracket in the playoffs drew the biggest audience: 259K Peak Viewers. After Sentinels' elimination, none of the other matches in the tournament drew as many viewers.
RLCS 2021-22 Winter Split Major rounds out the top three in terms of language. The final of the Rocket League's premier tournament at the beginning of spring ended with G2 Esports defeating Team Queso, and the game drew over 235K Peak Viewers.
English-speaking LoL fans also actively followed LCK in March. Gen.G and DWG KIA was one of the most popular matches, attracting 184K Peak Viewers.
Dota 2 also made it to the top by language for the first time in a long time. The final of the GAMERS GALAXY: Invitational Series Dubai 2022 lower bracket, where Nigma Galaxy and BOOM Esports had a match against each other, attracted up to 177K Peak Viewers at the English broadcast.

Compared to English-speaking viewers, Spanish-speaking audiences follow local esports tournaments the most. Free Fire Latinoamerica 2022 Opening, which drew over 461K Peak Viewers on its final day, ranks first by language in March.
The statistics of the Spanish language in March was extremely affected by Ibai ‘ibai’ Llanos, one of the most popular streamers in the world, who is also one of the KOI owners. This team's matches in LVP Superliga Spring 2022 and VRL 2022 Spain: Rising Stage 1 attracted 282K and 170K Peak Viewers, respectively.
VCT 2022 LATAM Stage 1 Challengers takes fourth place. The final of the tournament, where Leviatán and Sergio Agüero's KRÜ Esports team encountered, drew over 113K Peak Viewers. KRÜ took the win and will represent the region in the first event of the Masters 2022 series in Reykjavik.
The Twitch Rivals competition, held in an unusual discipline — F1 — rounds out the top 5 by language. The tournament, organized with the support of streamer tvandeR, gathered the top Spanish-speaking content creators, including TheGrefg. The competition attracted 90.1K Peak Viewers.

The Twitch audience mainly followed the tournaments we have already mentioned. Among the esports channels, the Korean broadcast of the LCK semifinal between DWG KIA and Gen.G attracted the most viewers, 222K PV. The same match drew 159K English-speaking Peak Viewers.
Along with LCK, Twitch viewers also followed LEC and RLCS Winter Major. The ESL Pro League Season 15 group stage match between NAVI and AGO also reached the top 5: 138K Peak Viewers watched the teeth-grinding encounter (there were an incredible number of extra rounds on the second map).
