MPL Indonesia Season 15 enters all-time Top 10 esports events as viewership hits record highs
The biggest regional MLBB event of the first half of 2025 has concluded, and, true to form, it has left a trail of records in its wake. The 15th season of the Mobile Legends Professional League Indonesia reached a series record 4.1 million peak concurrent viewers as it obliterated every other esports tournament so far this year and laid down the marker for the industry ahead of a busy summer of global championships across games.
The MPL Indonesia Season 15 was held over a little more than three months, with around $298,000 on the line. The top two would advance to the MLBB Mid Season Cup 2025, where they would represent perhaps the most supported region at the second international in-season major that will be held as part of the proceedings at the Esports World Cup 2025.
The Indonesian franchise league saw quite a few surprising results over its runtime, with sides like Team Liquid ID, Bigetron Esports, and EVOS falling pretty early. However, the journey of one name was what counted, and luckily for the event, MLBB's most supported team almost went all the way.

RRQ Hoshi, having faced a couple of years in the shadows of its national colleagues, has slowly but surely regained its mojo. Its Grand Final against another Indonesian powerhouse, ONIC Esports, attracted an incredible 4.13 million Peak Viewers (PV), a new record for the MPL series.
Although its domestic drought continued after a thrilling 3:4 loss to ONIC, RRQ Hoshi's voyage to the summit clash was intensely followed by fans. Proof of this was in the fact that the two-time world championship podium finisher appeared in all five of this Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament's most popular matches list.
The MPL Indonesia Season 15 became just the second competition in the MPL series to cross the 4 million PV mark, with the first coming at the previous split. These two tournaments are also among the ten most popular esports events of all time and the only two non-global championships to find a place here.
This also means it is the most popular esports event to be held so far this year, handily overtaking the previous record holder, the ESL Snapdragon Pro Series: Mobile Masters 2025. As a sign of MLBB's growing influence on the global competitive gaming stage, it is the only non-desktop game to find a place on this top ten list.

The MPL Indonesia Season 15 has also become the fourth split from this region to cross the 100 million Hours Watched (HW) barrier, with all these coming over the past four seasons. These remain the only non-global competitions to appear among the ten most-watched esports events of all time.
The latest MLBB Indonesian split broke a slew of other records as well. It witnessed an esports record for TikTok Live, which reached 1.53 million peak concurrent viewers, including a new Indonesian mark of 1.4 million PV on the video-sharing mobile application.

It is now also the third-most-popular MLBB event ever, behind only the M5 and M4 world championships. It is worth reiterating once again how impressive it is that a regional league has outperformed almost all the global championships held in a game. Indonesian audiences no doubt rival Korean LoL viewers when it comes to the love they have for their domestic teams and the impact they can have on the audience reach of such tournaments.
MLBB was the third most-watched mobile game on TikTok in Q1 2025, accumulating just about 140 million HW and regularly generating around 64,000 concurrent viewers.
With yet another season setting viewership milestones and RRQ Hoshi continuing its renaissance, the focus now shifts to the MSC Cup, to be held from July 10 to August 2. It is another chance for the legendary Indonesian MLBB organization to end its title drought, and if that does happen, we are bound to see more records fall by the wayside.
