Europe still on top among RLCS 2024 Open Qualifiers as focus shifts to Major 2
Qualifier events for the second Major of the ongoing Rocket League season ended. As seen over the first few Open Qualifiers that ended earlier in May, Europe maintained its reign as the top region, once again ending as the only league to pass 100K Peak Viewers and one million Hours Watched.
The RLCS 2024 - Major 2: EU Open Qualifier 6 ended as the most-watched event among all the rounds held, at 1.3M HW. Interestingly, all three qualifiers for this region crossed this mark, mostly thanks to the hype the game enjoys in the French community. The language crossed the 50% share in the overall watch time chart at all three competitions, although English remains a not-too-distant second at the moment.

The contributions of channels from this powerhouse nation also cannot be ignored. The likes of gotaga, kamet0, and fuury_off are constantly among the most watched and popular co-casters so these tournaments, attracting not only more French viewers but also global spectators as they enjoy superstardom worldwide.

The North American region's performances reflect that of its most spoken language, as it constantly finishes a solid second to Europe every round. All three Open Qualifiers for the RLCS 2024 - Major 2 crossed 700K HW and 68K PV, which would be pretty impressive if not for its rival from across the pond.

Cumulatively, the 21 rounds across the discipline's seven regions hit 63.6M HW, significantly lower than the 84.8M HW reached across all the qualifiers for the RLCS 2024 - Major 1. However, given this event went on to become the second-most popular ever in the game to kick off its first global competition in 2024 to a great start, it is easy to see why there was so much excitement among fans.
Moreover, Gentle Mates Alpine's entry into the fold was another filip for a game that was seeing a renaissance among viewers over the past two years. That it would go on to become a Major winner at the first time of asking was just what the doctor ordered in terms of attracting a larger number of online spectators to this event.
