Viewership often ranks matches, but the moments that get fans buzzing tell an equally exciting story. In this article, Esports Charts analyzed every channel that covered the 2025 World Championship to discover which highlights made League of Legends fans light up the chat. Viewers were captivated by T1’s standout plays, epic dragon battles by GEN.G, and underdogs toppling the favorites.

This article features the highlights that sparked the most chat activity on Twitch, Kick, and YouTube during the Play-In and Swiss Stages. We limited it to one highlight per series to ensure a more varied and intresting ranking.

#5 T1 vs Invictus Gaming (2 283 msg / min)

The opening match between T1 and Invictus Gaming kicked off the tournament with a bang, attracting over 2.5 million Peak Viewers. The reigning world champions were at risk of an early exit, facing a tough opponent right out of the gate. Luckily for T1 fans, the team pulled through, and the Korean powerhouse continues its run in the tournament.

The most talked-about moment of the series came during the final fight on the fourth map, when T1 launched a massive team battle in the mid lane. The star of the play was Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun, who, playing Nocturne, dove fearlessly into the enemy team, drew all the attention to himself, and somehow survived. Moments later, T1 capitalized on their victory, stormed the opponent’s base, and sealed the series.

During that fight, chat activity peaked at 2,283 messages per minute, with fans on the Chinese and Korean broadcasts leading the charge. Keep in mind, these stats exclude Chinese streaming platforms and only account for Chinese channels on Twitch, Kick, and YouTube.

#4 Т1 vs 100 Thieves (2 623 msg / min)

The matchup between T1 and 100 Thieves wasn’t expected to be very suspenseful, with the Korean powerhouse heavily favored to win. Still, it turned out to be far from an easy sweep. 100T put up a solid fight, particularly on the first map, which lasted an impressive 41 minutes — the second-longest game across the Play-In and Swiss Stages of the tournament.

At the 33-minute mark, T1 and 100 Thieves clashed in a massive team fight near Baron Nashor. The American squad came dangerously close to winning the fight, but then Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, playing Taliyah, showed masterful positioning and single-handedly turned the battle in T1’s favor.

During this highlight, chat activity spiked to over 2,600 messages per minute, with the most engagement coming from fans watching the English, Portuguese, and Korean broadcasts.

#3 G2 Esports vs Bilibili Gaming (2 993 msg / min)

The third spot on the ranking went to the match between G2 Esports and Bilibili Gaming. Both teams captured a lot of viewer attention during the Swiss Stage, but their outcomes couldn’t have been more different. After years of trying, G2 finally made it back to the Knockout Stage, while Chinese squad BLG was knocked out at this stage, despite being seen as one of the tournament favorites.

The clash between G2 Esports and Bilibili Gaming was packed with exciting highlights, but the standout moment was Rudy “SkewMond” Semaan from France pulling off a quad kill on Xin Zhao. Moments later, G2 demolished the enemy base and closed out the game. Fans on the English broadcasts went wild, with chat activity peaking at 2,900 messages per minute.

#2 Gen.G vs PSG Talon (3 659 msg / min)

The match between Gen.G and PSG Talon took place on the first day of the Swiss Stage and didn’t have much bearing on the tournament standings. With both teams just starting out in the stage and playing a best-of-1 series, anything was possible. PSG Talon got off to a strong start and even held a kill lead, but Gen.G was ahead in farm and map control. The fragile balance broke during the Thornbound Atakhan fight, when Gen.G baited PSG into a positional trap and wiped all five of their players. That decisive fight effectively sealed the match, as Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk and Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon became unstoppable afterward.

The clash at Thornbound Atakhan between Gen.G and PSG Talon, capped by an ACE from the Korean squad, sparked a surge in chat activity on the Chinese and Spanish broadcasts. Chinese fans, disappointed by PSG Talon’s defeat, spammed the chat with sad emojis. At the peak of the highlight, chat activity hit over 3,600 messages per minute.

#1 СFO vs FlyQuest (4 156 msg / min)

The standout highlight of the Swiss Stage at the 2025 World Championship came during the final fight between CFO and FlyQuest on the second map. The teams faced off in an elimination match, adding extra intensity to the showdown. FlyQuest, having previously competed in the Knockout Stage, was the favorite, while this was CFO’s first shot at reaching the championship’s final stage. In the end, the Taiwanese squad made history, defeating their opponent and securing a landmark victory.

In the final highlight, no single player stood out. By then, CFO had already secured several big fights against FlyQuest and held a clear lead. FlyQuest launched a desperate ‘last-ditch attack,’ but positional errors and CFO’s solid play stopped them in their tracks. CFO’s commanding win electrified viewers on Chinese streams, with chats blowing up to over 4,100 messages per minute.

The Knockout Stage of the 2025 World Championship kicked off on October 28. Of the 16 teams, only 8 remain in the fight for the championship, and that number will continue to shrink each day. You can track results and viewership stats on the Esports Charts report page.
