Moonton, the developer behind Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, shared the achievements of the discipline’s tournaments, as well as the overall plans of developing the game's esports competitions.

ML:BB is one of the most popular mobile titles in Southeast Asia, and during 2020-2021 we saw many large events in this discipline.

The counterpart of the International, M2 World Championship, took place in January this year. It attracted 3M Peak Viewers, becoming the most-watched event of the discipline.

MLBB Southeast Asia Cup 2021 is a recent event for the Southeast teams. Since we witness the encounters between popular teams from different countries very rarely, the event was interesting to watch and attracted quite a lot of attention. As a result, MSC 2021 was watched by 2.2M Peak Viewers.

What's next?

Mobile Legends Professional League expands its influence in other countries, with new leagues being launched in Brazil and Cambodia.

Following Indonesia, the Philippines league acquired franchise status. Now, it shall constantly feature such eight teams as Blacklist International, Bren Esports, Echo, Nexplay EVOS, ONIC, Omega Esports, RSG PH, and TNC Pro Team.

Start schedule of new MPL leagues:

MPL ID Season 8 — August 13th

MPL BR Season 1 — August 14th

MPL KH Season 1 — August 28th

MPL PH Season 8 — September 1st

Moonton also announced the M3 World Championship, which is the discipline's next largest event. It will take place at the end of 2021. The top MPL teams will go straight to the M3, while the teams from countries not covered by MPL will compete for their spots by participating in the regional qualifiers.
